He later teamed up with Indian National Congress was elected as president of the Youth wing party. 4 Bose with Congress Bose started working under the guidance of Chittaranjan Das in Calcutta. Das was an active member of Congress and Bose praised him as his political guru. This was the time when Bose started enlightening the students, youngsters, and labourers in Calcutta in the freedom movement of the nation. 5 Bose against Congress Serving under the Congress, Subhash Chandra Bose becomes a strong leader. In a short period of time, he realized that Gandhi’s philosophies were not good enough to lead the nation toward independence and he tried to mould the party to follow an aggressive approach. He was opposed greatly by Mahatma Gandhi and other leaders which resulted in his separation from the Congress. During the 2nd world war, Subhash Chandra Bose travelled to Germany to seek support from the Nazi army to help India fight against the British. Over a year after the Japanese army invaded Southeast Asia, Bose left Germany to reach Tokyo by traveling in submarines and planes. On July 4, 1943, he took the leadership of the Indian Independence Movement with Japanese aid in East Asia. He set the foundation to Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) on October 21, 1943, and reached Indian soil on March 18, 1944, to fight against the British. . 6 The disappearance of Bose It is believed that Subhash Chandra Bose died in a plane crash while returning from Japan but his body was never recovered. The lack of information and facts related to the plane crash theory resulted in a series of investigation about his death. Many believe that he was made a prisoner and interrogated by British while some other believe that he survived the plane crash and live under a fake identity.
