Therapist  VS.  Psychologist

Therapists and psychologists have very similar roles with different educational backgrounds. Along with an undergraduate degree in psychology, they have advanced degrees like a Ph.D. or PsyD.

Therapists could have up to a master’s degree.

Psychologists study human behavior as researchers, professors, and writers. Therapists act as counselors to people with problems they cannot deal with on their own, such as anxiety, depression etc.

A psychologist with an MD degree will be able to prescribe medicine whereas a therapist cannot. Therapists can, however, offer treatment suggestions within the arena of talk therapy.

Therapists can provide mental and emotional support to their clients through family, group, couples, and individual sessions. Psychologists can diagnose physical symptoms and conduct tests to check for physical anomaly alongside mental imbalances.
