Bedroom

So you’ve decided to extend your living space, but at the same time, you’d like to avoid big costs and construction works. How about that old garage that’s been spontaneously turned into a storage for useless stuff you are never gonna use anyway. Make use of the bedroom for developing your home interiors in the right manner.

You can renovate that space and turn it into a lovely little bedroom. We’ve talked to the guys at Rockstar Garage Doors about this idea and they were more than happy to give us their thoughts and opinions on how to turn your garage into a bedroom on a budget.

Different Ways To Turn The Garage Into Bedroom

There are multiple factors that you have to take care of while you want to arrange for the garage in the bedroom. Work out the plans that can help you to achieve your goals in the best possible manner. Do not make your choices in the wrong manner.

1. The Floor

Remodeling a garage into a bedroom costs significantly less than building a new room from the ground up, no argument about the math there.

When you start refurbishing, the first thing you pay attention to is the floor. You’ll notice, at least in most cases, that it’s made of concrete, which already a nice foundation for whatever material you choose to put on top to make it nice and cozy.

You can choose a carpet or a wooden floor. These two are inexpensive and both very pleasing to the eye. You’d instantly gain a warm and comfy feel to the whole room.

You can also use vinyl tiles which are probably the cheapest option but would still get the work done.

You can even be more artistic and just stain the existing concrete floor, and then put some rugs and carpets around to give it a bedroomy atmosphere.

2. What to do with the walls?

Since walls are already there obviously, you’d probably need to build windows, because the garage probably didn’t have any. Either way, in order to have a proper bedroom, you need good insulation.

Blown-in insulation is a good and affordable option, or if your wall is of older date, you can build an additional wall about 3-inches away from the old one, thus leaving enough room to add proper insulation.

Drywall is also a great solution for your ceiling and walls, it’s a cheap yet effective solution, but in order for the whole system to function well, you’d also need windows and doors that provide energy efficiency and good insulation.

3.The interior

You’d probably want to add air conditioning to your new bedroom. The easiest and cheapest way to do that is to use the ductwork you already have in your house, just expand it.

You don’t have to aesthetically match your new bedroom with the rest of the house at all, it has its own charm if you decide to leave it in a more rustic state with minimalistic style and furniture.

Don’t forget to add vent openings in order to decrease the energy spent on heating and ventilation. Most likely, you will also need to find good garage door installation companies to replace your old, worn-out garage door.

You can easily turn this ‘’new space’’ into a guest room or even put it for rent on sites like Airbnb and such. It would be good to use more bright and vibrant paint job with a lot of natural light pouring in because bedrooms are all about warmth, coziness, and space.

4. Property value and additional notes

It is estimated that you can return a great deal of your investment after a year or so if you manage to adapt the garage into a bedroom properly.

When it comes to your available budget, you shouldn’t spend more than 5 percent of your current property value in order to have a good return. If you plan to use it as a guest room or rent it, it is important to have a bathroom.

Costs would be increased of course if you decide to build a new one, but it’s much easier just to put a door if the garage and bathroom share the same wall.

Final Take Away

Hence, these are some of the essential facts that you have to take care of while you want to develop your interiors in the correct way. You have to ideate your plans in the right order to achieve your goals in the best possible ways. Make your choices in the correct manner. Work out the plans that can have a long-term impact on your business to achieve your goals in a better way. Do not make your choices in grey while you want to improve your business in the correct manner. Try to achieve your plans after developing the correct strategy.

Swimming Pool Cleaning and Maintenance: Cheap Online Pool Supplies

When the summer heat starts kicking in, doesn’t it feel good to jump into the pool? Spending hours in the soothing water, swimming, and having a relaxing time takes all the summer heat away. And if you have a pool in your backyard, you can go swimming anytime you want, right? The only problem is, keeping the pool clean and hygienic to swim. If you are getting inside the water, it’s essential to make sure the water won’t harm your skin or hair. Pool cleaning and maintenance are almost as important as taking a bath every day. The easiest way is to follow a certain procedure and regular practices to keep the water clean. You might also want to buy some cleaning chemicals. While pool cleaning can get a bit costlier, there are some easy-to-use and cheap online pool supplies available to save your day. Here is how you can maintain the pool and enjoy a swim round anytime in a day. Pool Maintenance Basics - Maintaining a pool is a three-step process and is pretty easy once you get used to it. Step 1: Water Circulation As much as the water keeps circulating, the pool is going to stay healthy. The water will carry any invisible dirt and debris towards the filters to keep itself clean and harmless. Ideally, the pool filters and pumps should keep the water running all the time. But considering the electricity situation, that might not be possible. It will be cheaper if you follow a certain timetable to keep the water running. The best solution would be to turn on filters and pumps during the night hours till the morning. A good 8-hour routine would be enough for water circulation. Step 2: Cleaning The Pool and Equipment The circulating water will carry and trap any debris into the pump baskets and filters. To maintain those tools functioning, clean all the pump baskets and filters. You might have sand filters or cartridge filters. Cleaning both the filters is easy and doesn’t need a lot of work. There are some automatic, robotic vacuum cleaners and filters that can do the cleaning themselves so that you can invest in that as well. Now, to clean the pool, first, pick up the skimmer and get all the visible debris out. Then brush and clean the walls, steps, ladders to get rid of any collected dirt that might harm the water. Brushing on alternate days would be a good idea. Cleaning can never be enough, be more generous in this step. Shine the pool and the water. Step 3: Pool Chemistry Pool Chemistry might sound tricky and complex to understand for beginners. But it isn’t. A couple of sanitizers and chemicals are going to help you maintain the pH of the water. Ideally, the pH of the pool water should be between 7.2 to 7.6, and the alkalinity range should be 100-150 ppm. Get some pool test strips to test these ranges and use the chemicals accordingly. Have pool chlorine and dispensers in handy all the time. If you have a saltwater pool, then you can get salt supplies at a cheaper rate online at Watson’s. Test the water every other day to make sure it’s safe to enter. Final Words: Pool cleaning and maintenance activity is actually as fun as swimming. Once you understand and sync into the whole process, it’s quite easy to do it at least once a week. Get into the cleaning mode, and your pool will stay functional for a longer time. Next time you host a party, your pool will be shining with crystal clear water. Moving overseas can be incredibly stressful, to say the least. The last thing that you want is to make a lot of mistakes along the way. If you want to make sure that you are making the most out of every bit of money you have, then this guide will really help you out. Lack of Research Research is paramount if you want to relocate abroad. It’s a huge decision so you have to make sure that you know everything there is to know about your location and the things that there are to do there. You also need to know which items you can and cannot take with you. Some countries stop you from being able to bring certain items with you, which can include food or even alcohol. It’s also helpful to think about how you are going to move your belongings. An international moving firm can help you out a lot here, so make sure that you keep that in mind. Poor Organisation Poor organization is another mistake that so many people make. As soon as you know where you are going to move and when you then need to start organizing things. You need to think about what belongings you have, what you are going to take with you, and what you plan on leaving behind. The sooner you do this, the better. If you do, then you will be far less inclined to make even more mistakes and you may even find that you are able to relax more leading up to the big day. Now would also be the time for you to look into your overseas pension or pensions for expats, if you know that you are going to be retiring abroad. You may well have planned your move way ahead of time, but Time Management you’d be surprised at how quickly the moving date creeps up on you. It’s vital that you do your research and that you manage the time you have effectively. It helps to get things done early and never leave tasks until the last minute if there is a chance that they can be done way earlier. When you have arrived, you would be surprised at how long things will take. Not Packing Properly If you are sending a huge amount of stuff through a removal company then there’s a high chance that you will get there before your stuff does. For this reason, you have to make sure that you factor things like this into your packaging. Your suitcase should be full of your everyday clothes as well as things such as toiletries. If you want to be safe, take enough clothes to last you a few weeks. If you do this then you are covered if you are ever delayed. In addition to this, you have to make sure that you pack as sensibly as possible. If you are moving somewhere you know is hot, you won’t need jumpers in your suitcase, but you may need to put some sunscreen in there so you can cool your skin down and protect yourself from harmful UV rays.
