Web Influence Students

How Contents On Web Influence Students

Having access to almost everything at the tip of your fingers is a boon. It is amazing to understand what you can find on the Internet, which is the information on almost every little fact or detail. Whilst that is astonishing and often useful, it is also a bit terrifying. Students must know and understand how to filter information from the Internet that they constantly consume. Though the web is flooded with a lot of useful stuff, it is not free from the content that can adversely impact the young generation. What has internet done to a student and how not to lose yourself? The Internet affects human lives greatly. One can wonder ‘how the Internet changed the world?’ While it has facilitated research and helped us connect with individuals from all over the world, its negative consequences cannot be ignored. The content available there has made students its slaves to the extent that “Google it” has become the most popular response to any query. Someone has rightly cracked the joke, “Thank Wikipedia and Google for our degrees” and this is not far from reality! So in order not to lose yourself in such a fast-moving world and use only the needed information, here are some suggestions that might be helpful. Which information to trust? Digital era has got its own perks and flaws. With the internet taking over the market, innumerable sites offer plenty of information to everyone, which often leads to a dilemma as to whether the information one has found can be trusted or not. The students can follow a simple methodology to be able to analyze the content better. Here’s a suggestion that can help you decide if the data is reliable or not: Use a plagiarism checker tool: One of the positive things the Internet has provided us with is different online tools that help a student write a better paper and do deeper researches. One of such useful apps is online plagiarism checker. However, some students think of it as an easy escape from directly copying someone else's work, which is extremely unfair for the original author. But the internet has also powered the educators with online tools like plagiarism checker to see the extent of plagiarism in the content submitted. You may even find the best free plagiarism checker. If you are a student who needs access to a plagiarism tool before submitting your assignments, free online plagiarism checker with percentage is available as well. Learn to filter: The idea is to filter out and eliminate the information that doesn’t suit the needs correctly. Here, the approach should be as follows - what is important to know for the relevance of the subject instead of what is better to know! Students generally get carried away with the facts and information they find online and end up wasting their time. Focus on your needs: This is very essential to follow for the students, especially when it comes to preparing the papers and writing assignments or essays. The focus needs to be on covering up the most precise information possible within the requirements of the task. One should look for, use and cite different scientific articles based on the experts’ investigations. It is forbidden to rely on marketing texts, blogs, etc. The only way through is to filter information properly to avoid losing yourself during the process of investigation. Are we using our knowledge to full potential? A few specialists propose that such simple access to all the data put away on the World Wide Web is shortening students’ abilities to focus conceivably aggravating their memory. It may even make individuals less sympathetic since they're surrounded by artificial screens. Surfing the web can make students increasingly insightful, and it also encourages them to become progressively mindful of others' perspectives. However, the key lies in knowing how to filter information and read only those articles that are helpful. Innovation has reshaped the thinking pattern: Scientists still discuss how the Internet is changing the way we think. On the account of such developments as cell phones, tablets, and Internet-based apps, the innovation will probably keep reshaping the manner in which individuals communicate, feel, and think. The Internet has, without a doubt, affected people’s regular day-to-day existence, especially for the students who are in constant touch with it. Such developments have not only positive but also negative effects. People now prefer to sit at home watching to their screen rather than going for a walk, relaxing outside or meeting with friends. It is easier for them to take your cellphone and order products from the nearest store, write up a message rather than have a real-life conversation or watch an adventure movie rather than participate in the adventures with our friends or family. Conclusion: Still, everyone has his or her own explanation of how the Internet changed the world. Without any doubt, its evolution has revolutionized the way people learn and behave. More specifically, it has changed how they think and create. And the most important thing now is to try to filter all the inappropriate information, be yourself and remember about real-life activities that are far more appealing than the existence near the screens. School Hardening

School Hardening: 5 Products to Keep Teachers and Students Safe

In 2021, schools in the United States experienced 23 school shootings. This equates to a school shooting every 8 days. Unfortunately, because of the shootings, parents have started to become more concerned about the safety of their children in schools. It’s important to know that academic institutions, among others, can be considered an essential environment as children usually spend more time every day with their teachers and peers. But with the recent school shootings in the country, it’s about time that the schools address the security threats to ensure the safety of all students. This is where school hardening comes into play. However, in school hardening you have to understand several aspects. After the Parkland shooting in Florida, the concept of school hardening came into the spotlight. School hardening aims to make it difficult for a potential assailant to enter the school and injure children or staff. The process looks different based on the school. It can include solely physical barriers and metal detectors or even arming children with weapons such as mini bats and rocks to use against an assailant. Keep reading to learn about 5 school hardening products that can help keep teachers and students safe. Florida School Hardening: In February 2018, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School suffered a school shooting where 17 students and staff were killed and 17 others were injured. After the shooting, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act was passed to allocate $400 million to schools to promote school hardening. Many states and Congress have also allocated money to help protect schools. School Hardening Products: Children have the right to feel safe in school. Although school hardening cannot guarantee your child’s safety, it has become essential in this day and age.  With more parents becoming worried about their kids’ safety, schools should boost their security efforts during the opening of classes. For example, they should add advanced security systems along with security signages and other related back to school images around the premises. That way, the parents will have peace of mind knowing the schools take their children’s safety and security seriously.  But aside from these items, here are 5 school hardening products that can help protect schools from active shooters. These are often great products to keep teachers safe, as well. 1. Bulletproof Backpacks: Bulletproof backpacks are a form of gun defense for children. It can only be the best safety element that parents can have control of. Once their children leave for school, they no longer know what happens to them. But with these backpacks, you can rest knowing your kids have something that can protect them against potential security threats. Just teach them how to use the bags properly to obtain a more favorable outcome.  However, it’s important to know that most only work to block the bullets of a handgun, and would not work against rifles or large caliber bullets. But despite the limitation, requiring students to use bulletproof backpacks can still provide an added layer of protection while they’re in school. Lastly, bulletproof backpacks are convenient as they work just like any other bag but with certain safety features. 2. Auto-Lock Doors: In many active shooter situations, locked doors are enough to deter a shooter. They often continue onward to another area rather than attempting to break into the door. Auto-lock doors can be manually activated by teachers when all students enter the classroom. An electronic system can also automatically lock doors, especially in the case of an emergency. 3. Bulletproof Doors and Windows: During the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the assailant shot through the glass of locked doors. Manufacturing doors and windows with bulletproof glass would make it more difficult. However, the glass is not completely bulletproof, so the right weapons may penetrate the glass. 4. Barricades: There is a myriad of products that can help teachers barricade their doors in the case of an emergency. These items prevent someone from entering a classroom. However, these items should comply with fire safety standards and allow staff and students to quickly exit in the case of a fire. 5. Security Cameras: Security cameras, when actively monitored by staff, are a great way to view potential security threats. Spotting a strange individual or car can allow staff to act quickly and get law enforcement involved. Final Thoughts: With the increase of school shootings across the United States, school hardening has become more important than ever. We covered 5 amazing products that can help staff and students stay safe in the case of a crisis. For more articles the newest products that can keep you safe, visit our blog today. 4.0 in college

6 Ways You Can Secure a 4.0 in College

At some major U.S. institutions like USC and Princeton University, more people are getting a 4.0 in college than not. This trend toward perfection is heightening the competition across the board for all students in the United States. Where getting a 4.0 may have been just a goal for the few who want to continue on to graduate school years ago, today it is a vigorously sought after accomplishment. If you long for a lauded GPA, then read on for our helpful tips to learn how to capture the ultimate prize. 1. Pay Attention During Syllabus Week: Syllabus week is the time where your professor will sit you down and explain to you exactly what it takes to do well in their class. Make sure that you listen carefully and take notes. If you miss something important now, it can jeopardize your GPA later in the semester. 2. Develop Relationships With Your Peers and Professors: If you want to do well in college, it's helpful that other people like to work with you and are rooting for you to do well. If you form quality relationships with your peers and professors, then they will be willing to go out of their way to help you out if you need it. 3. Don't Be Afraid to Ask Questions: Asking questions is always the right answer if you don't understand something. While you might have been shamed into being quiet by your peers in high school, in college you are paying for your education and it's your right to take your time to understand the lessons properly. 4. Use an Old School Planner: If you never learned how to use a planner, then now is the time. The only way you will get a 4.0 is if you don't miss any projects and give yourself the time you need to be successful. 5. Make Daily To-Do Lists: Making daily to-do lists will be key to your efforts towards a 4.0. There are only so many hours in a day and you need to balance your life well. Try to learn new methods for keeping to-do lists like prioritizing and color coding your activities so that you can ensure everything gets done. 6. Ask for Help With Your Work: If you aren't doing well on a subject, then you may need a little extra help. Try visiting the study center at your university and asking for guidance. Or if you need a little extra help, you could perhaps buy an essay online. While you won't want to turn in the work, it could help provide you a template to work off of to shape your own work. civil rights of children

Children are Citizens: What are the Civil Rights of Children in Public Schools?

In the United States, children are given many of the same protections as are adults, namely, the right to equal protection. Simply put, children are entitled to the same treatment under the law regardless of race, gender, disability, or religion. Children also have the right to a safe environment, good nutrition, healthcare, and education. But when it comes to that last one, education, the rights of minors differ from those of adults. It's critical for parents and educators to understand the civil rights of children in the U.S public education system. Federal vs. State: In the U.S., the federal law governing education is limited. The Tenth Amendment provides that state and local governments decide most education policies. Parents can't assume the federal government will protect children in the public school system. You can find state-specific information here. However, there are basic rights provided to all public school children. Free Education: Every child in the U.S. has the right to free, public school education. Parents and guardians should take a look at their state, district, and school policies. They'll want to find out exactly what is free and what they'll have to pay for. For example, a school can charge students for lunch, athletic equipment, and field trips. Protection from Discrimination: The U.S. Constitution guarantees equal treatment to all, including public school students. Schools can't discriminate against a student because of their gender, sexual orientation, home country, financial status or disability. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 requires that male and female students are treated the same in school programs and activities that receive federal funding. Title IX also applies to higher education, career training and education for pregnant students. Students who've had children are protected too. Title IX covers employment and math and science education. Sexual harassment, standardized testing and technology are also included. Parents and guardians who feel their student is being discriminated against can contact the ACLU for help. Safety in School: Civil rights laws are in place to protect students from bullying at all public schools. Teachers and other students can't harass someone because of their race or national origin. Gender, disability, ethnic background, and religion are also protected. School safety has been in the spotlight a lot, especially after the shootings at Sandy Hook and Marjory Stoneman Douglas.  Schools have come up with safety plans, required active shooter drills and in some cases, even allowed teachers to carry guns. In the 2015–16 school year, 94 percent of public schools said they controlled access to school buildings. They did so by locking or monitoring doors during school hours. If your child is injured at school due to negligence, you'll want more info on your rights and possible compensation. Freedom of Speech and Religion: Public school students have a limited right to free speech. They're often encouraged to speak their mind and share their opinions. But schools can limit the student's right to free speech if they feel it might hurt other students. Students keep their First Amendment right to freedom of speech, as long as they don't disrupt the educational process. Public school students also have the right to pray and take religious material to school. They also have the right to wear religious clothing like a hijab or yarmulke. Students' rights in public schools also include the right to talk about their faith. They're allowed to organize a religious club and miss school for religious holidays. It's illegal for any school or employee to push a particular religion on students. They can't encourage students to join a religious organization. And, they can't discriminate against students who don't practice any religion. Homeschooling: Some parents would rather keep their children out of the public school system entirely. Federal law protects their right to teach their children at home. Homeschooling is legal in all 50 states. Every state has its own regulations that parents have to follow. You can look up state-specific laws here. Civil Rights of Children Include the Right to Privacy: Federal and state governments often gather information about students for research and education-related purposes. Students might be asked to fill out surveys that ask about their alcohol or drug use, their home life, their diet, and their mental health status. Public school students have the right to opt-out of these questionnaires without fear of reprisals. It's illegal to penalize children for refusing to take the surveys. Protection for Students with Special Needs: Federal law gives every student who qualifies an individually-designed instruction program for free. Parents can ask to have their student professionally evaluated. That way, they'll know exactly what the student's academic and social needs are. Qualified students may learn in a regular classroom and get help from a specialist. Or, they could study in a smaller group of students. These kids might need individual or small-group instruction. A student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and Section 504 provide a road map for schools that are teaching students with learning and emotional disabilities. It covers mental and physical disabilities, too. Parents who understand their student's IEP can better support their child at home, just as teachers will better understand their condition. Opting out of Sex Education and HIV/AIDS Prevention: Some parents don’t want schools to teach their students about sexual health. They may not want their student to learn about HIV and AIDS prevention in school, either. Students can opt-out of these lessons if their parents request an exemption in writing. Free Education for Immigrants: Children of immigrants have the right to free public school education in the U.S. They have the right to go to school without worrying about deportation or discrimination. Their parents don't have to show a green card, a visa, a passport or an alien registration number to enroll their children. Wrapping It Up: Children under the age of 18 are still developing physically and mentally, and they aren't given all the same rights as adults. Children can't vote, own property or agree to medical treatment. But the U.S. Constitution does protect the civil rights of children by saying they're entitled to a safe environment, good nutrition, healthcare, and education. College Textbooks

How to Reduce the Cost of College Textbooks

Textbooks are a painful purchase for any student. Year after year, prices continue to rise, often resulting in textbook fees being added to the pile of crippling student loan debt facing the nation. Fortunately, there are some ways that you can reduce the cost of your books. College Textbooks can make things simple for a student.  There is almost never a need to buy a brand new textbook at full price, so explore your options before you commit to anything. Keep in mind that you shouldn’t plan on buying all of your books in one transaction because purchasing them individually will net the most savings. Forget the Campus Bookstore Unless you are bound by a tuition stipend or other financial means to purchase your books at the campus bookstore, stay away. This is the guaranteed way to pay the highest prices for textbooks, even when buying used. The bookstore used to be the source for students, but thanks to technology, there are plenty of other ways to get the books that you need for a lot less. The exception here is for research purposes; in most cases, the campus store is going to have the highest prices. However, there may be a rare occasion where they don’t. Feel free to call or visit and get a list of prices for the books that you need, just for the sake of comparison when you go online to shop around. Always Buy Used Unless there is a specific text you will keep forever or absolutely need the brand new edition of for some reason, buy your books used. These are at least ⅓ less than the cost of brand new books, and offer the same information on the pages. Some are in better condition than others, but most used resellers will provide condition information and pictures of the book you are purchasing so that you can see what you are actually getting. You can find thousands of used copies online at prices that you can afford. When you are buying used books, check out their resale value and the return policy of the seller you purchase from. Reselling your books after the semester is over is a great way to recoup some money that can go towards next semester’s books. Or, you can take the money and treat yourself for saving hundreds on your textbooks by buying used in the first place. The return policy is important because if a book arrives in unusable condition, you need to be able to send it back. Your class won’t be nearly as informative with a partial textbook, after all. Rent or Borrow Books The school or public library might have books that you need for classes. Before you spend a dime, look into these sources for common texts, literature books, and other texts available for you to borrow. Libraries are a great resource that often gets overlooked. The downside here is that you may only be able to borrow a book for a part of the semester. Ask about their renewal policies when considering this option. College Textbooks can make your life easier by all means. There is an increasing market in the campus bookstore realm for textbook rentals. This is another exception to the “avoid the bookstore” rule, of course. The most expensive texts are usually available for rental from your campus store, which might be the best financial option. Before you rent, though, make sure that you know what you are signing up for. Take extra good care of the books so that you aren’t charged for damage upon their return, or forced to purchase them outright (which is what you were trying to avoid in the first place). You can also rent textbooks online, or download ebook versions of the texts that you need for your college classes. Sell Your Old Books You can reduce the cost of your next semester’s textbook bill by selling your old books. Don’t sell them back to the campus bookstore, because they usually don’t offer much. Plus, you might only get credit to use in the store. Instead, consider selling them online or through community marketplaces. Advertise them around campus for other students, too. When you sell textbooks online, you can often choose the price and compare what others are selling. That gives you a better idea of how much you can actually earn. Feel free to look around and get a few different quotes before you commit. Most re-seller websites that buy college texts will allow you to enter the ISBN and get an estimate of how much you will get for the books you are selling. See where you can get the most money for your books, even if you have to sell them in a few different places. A Little Research Goes a Long Way Your college book purchases don’t have to break the bank. Whether you need to reduce the cost on the front end or just make up the difference and sell textbooks to help cut the costs, there are plenty of options available. Just give yourself a little time to explore your options. An extra hour of your time could save you hundreds, no matter what degree you are studying.
