Car Insurance For Electric Vehicles Explained
You’ve taken the leap into electric vehicles, leaving behind petrol fumes and high bills at the forecourt lured by the prospect of low running costs, no vehicle tax, and low emissions. Or maybe you’re just considering ditching fuel tanks for plugs and are doing the maths, calculating whether the savings you can rack up with an EV, from the government’s rebate to lower servicing charges, can offset the higher initial outlay. While electric vehicles are exempt from vehicle tax and from charges in London’s congestion zone, and you can rack up discounts on parking permits from many councils, you can’t avoid some of the standard costs of owning a vehicle. A major, unavoidable expense is for car insurance, which is a legal requirement for any vehicle using or even parked on public roads in the UK. If you’ve never sought out or arranged insurance for an electric vehicle, you might be baffled about where to start. Cost and Providers: You may heard electric vehicles are significantly more expensive to insure and that you’ll need to see out a specialist provider. It’s true that the market for electric vehicles, and therefore for insurance for electric vehicles, is still in its infancy. As of the end of September 2018, there are just 178,000 plug-in vehicles (including fully electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids) registered in the UK, out of a total of 37.3m vehicles on our roads. But the number is rising quickly: there were 5,000 new registrations of plug-in vehicles each month of 2018, while in 2014 just 400 new plug-in vehicles were being driven off lots. With the increasing uptake of EVs and hybrids, especially in the run up to the 2040 ban on petrol and diesel vehicles, the cost and complication of insuring them will fall. Electric vehicle insurance policies will become standard fare from mainstream insurers. Today, the higher purchase price of EVs drives up insurance premiums for them, as insurers need to consider to cost of replacing your vehicle if it’s stolen or damaged beyond repair. But even now you might find insuring an electric vehicle might be comparable to, or even cheaper, than insuring a petrol- or diesel-powered car, owing to the small size and less powerful engines on EVs and the discounts some insurers can give you for driving environmentally-friendly cars. However, the process of obtaining insurance quotes and policies for an electric vehicle is different than that for EVs and a rundown will be helpful as you start your electrically-powered journey. What Impacts Cost of Insurance for Electric Vehicles: You’re probably familiar with the features of a standard vehicle that can inflate, or reduce, your monthly premiums for its insurance, including its car insurance group, the size of its engine, and purchase price. For insuring electric vehicles, there’s a new calculus, accounting for who owns the battery and the risk posed by (not kidding) power cables. leased batteries: Some EV manufacturers like Renault and Clio offer motorists the option of buying the vehicle outright but leasing its battery, with a monthly fee and mileage agreement. These arrangements spare you the steep cost of replacing batteries when they lose functionality after a few years. But if you’re leasing the battery, you’ll need to inform your insurer when obtaining quotes, as a leased battery will affect who needs to be paid if your electric vehicle is written off. Additionally, some policies may not cover leased batteries. power cables and liability: Much like your smartphone, your electric vehicle will need to be charged, just with a very big cord. If you’re charging in your driveway or garage, you won’t have to worry about the cord trailing large distances. But if you’re charging your vehicle while it’s parked on the street or at a public charging station, that cord could pose a tripping hazard. When obtaining an insurance policy for your electric vehicle, you should ensure it provides enough liability cover to protect you if a member of the public face-plants over your cable. fires from at-home charging: If your electric vehicle or cable fire while plugged in in your driveway or garage you might wonder which insurance policy will pay out: your home insurance policy or the one for your car. That ultimately depends on where the fire originates, but the risk of an electric fault within your vehicle causing a fire that then destroys you home can push up premiums for car insurance for EVs. green discounts: Some insurers will offer discounts of up to 5% on your annual premiums as a reward for you driving an environmentally-friendly car. Others will make charitable donations to green causes in your name from your premiums or plant a certain number of trees. What Are Virtual Reality Workouts And How Will They Affect Exercise?
When pondering on whether or not to workout, your mind will usually think of the hassle of getting to the gym or the stench of sweat surrounding the rowing machines. But, technology is making advances that could render these uncomfortable associations null and void. There is no denying the leaps and bounds technology has made, and the ways in which it is impacting our lives. One of the most prominent pieces of technology to date is Virtual Reality (VR). While variations of practical applications have been in development for many years, devices that are capable of displaying VR experiences are more reliable now than ever before. One of the more recent applications is its role in recreating the workout experience. The following article will outline how, through the use of devices like the Oculus Rift, VR is changing the exercise landscape for the better. While VR may prove beneficial for an individual’s workout, supplements can further increase your ability to achieve your health goals. For example, CLA supports weight loss and Moringa boosts energy. These are just a few products that may promote slimming down or enhance your performance. But, finding the right supplement is not always an easy endeavor. If you wish to make your search as painless and efficient as possible then check out Research and You. Their in-depth reviews on all the latest products will guide you towards a wiser purchase decision. And with your health supplements in check, is it time to start investing in the VR revolution? Read on to find out how it could improve your workouts: From the Comfort of Your Home: As we have already mentioned, it is often more strenuous to get to the gym than it is to actually work out. After all, the decision to leave your home doesn’t solely rely on your productivity. While laziness plays a big part in steering people away from their gym’s front doors, being uncomfortable can cause major workout neglect. Quite simply, many people are not happy with their bodies. You may feel disheartened when seeing the macho and slim figures sprawl themselves across the exercise machines. Or, you may not feel so lively when you catch a whiff of the trainer on the machine next to you. These are all ways in which going to the gym can seem a terrifying and daunting challenge in itself. VR can change that. Learn more about it here. VR allows individuals to transport themselves to another ‘location’ without having to leave their homes. It caters to the individuals that do not wish to make the trek to the gym or simply do not have time. Strap on the headset and you’re off for your workout. Anywhere Goes: Beyond conducting your exercise within your own home, you can do it just about anywhere around the world without having to step into a gym. Taking a much-needed vacation? Take your headset along with you for a quick morning session. Visiting family for the weekend? Avoid the family politics and step outside for a quick yoga practice on the beach. These are all ways in which you can use VR to workout anywhere. This is because all you need is the headset and decent internet connection. Saving on Memberships: Gym memberships can take a lump sum out of your pocket every month. In fact, signing up to a gym is one of the most expensive ways to workout. Click here to read the truth about the costs. While VR is not exactly cheap, it can prove more cost-effective than memberships. The initial cost of purchasing a headset is likely your biggest expense. After that, there are many workout apps that offer free trials and you can even download some for free. The fact that you can use these experiences just about anywhere is another appealing and sustainable reason to invest in it. If you wish to relocate or visit another country for a few months, you will not need to purchase a new membership or increase the cost of your existing one. Gamifying the Experience: Another extremely appealing factor is VR’s ability to gamify your workout experience. Rather than the mundane environment, you can transport yourself to an isolated beach and conduct your routine there. For the more adventurous, certain apps will encourage you to beat your best bench press by scoring you and offering rewards. The satisfaction of earning a new badge or bragging right is what will bring individuals back to this gamified experience. The potential to create inspiring and invigorating new ways of exercising is limitless. Here are a few games to get you started. For those that want a more classic workout, then the VR headset will offer that to. While the implementations are relatively new and glitches may be present, the future of workouts is positively changing through the introduction of tools like VR. You can harness the power of technology to re-inspire your love of exercise and efficiently achieve your health goals. How to Train Your Kids for Horseback Riding
Riding a horse is a dream come true for many children but dreaming about it and actually getting on your first pony can be very different things so it’s important to make sure your child is truly ready before they get in the saddle. While horse riding lessons provide many benefits including fitness, strength and improved confidence and focus, children still need to understand the potential dangers and risks associated with handling a large animal. Few Things: There are a few things you can do to help train your kids ready to go on their first horseback riding and the most important is to get them used to the reality of being around real horses and a stable environment. We spoke to the team behind https://www.equisupermarket.co.uk and they shared with us what we can do to help better train kids, you can see some of their ideas below. Look for a riding instructor whose expertise lies with working specifically with children and have them assess your child’s readiness to ride. Every child develops differently at different ages so it’s important to make sure your child is fully ready before they begin. A child riding expert will be able to assess if they have the necessary confidence and common-sense to be able to behave well around horses and handle the potential risks that even the calmest of ponies can create. It can be really helpful to give your children the chance to go and watch other children riding first, so see if you can take your young ones along to a riding school to observe a couple of lessons so they can see exactly what’s involved. Watching a lesson can also be great for parents to really understand the kind of balance, maturity, and co-ordination in which children need to be able to fully participate and enjoy a horse riding lesson safely. Try to find a riding school that offers assessment checks. This is where they will take your child and allow them to ride a small well-behaved horse to assess their skills and abilities and can make an informed judgment about whether or not your child is ready to start formal lessons. The last thing you want is to put your child on a horse in a lesson only to find they are not ready physically or emotionally and end up having a terrifying experience which puts them off for life, instead of the magical experience it should be. When getting involved in horses it’s good for your child to understand there is a lot more to it than just riding lessons as well. They would benefit from spending time in the stables so they can understand what it’s like working around horses. They should experience all the sides of horses such as grooming, tacking up, and cleaning out the stables. That way they can get an all-round appreciation of what’s involved in being around horses regularly. Find out if your chosen stables will let them shadow someone for a couple of hours as they carry out these kinds of routine tasks around the horses so they can learn more about how their favorite animals behave. Loving horses from watching TV shows or having posters on the wall is very different from actually dealing with mucking out stables and handling a large animal in real life so it’s important to know your children are ready to translate their dreams into real life. Children won’t be able to do too much riding to start with because they won’t have the strength but they can still get to know horses and spend time with them through all of the other activities like grooming and mucking out, while they get used to the demands of riding. Important lesson children need to know is how to react around horses and what to look out for. It’s important they understand that horses don’t like quick and sudden movements or loud noises and what the consequences could be of not respecting that. They also need to know how to safely approach a pony without spooking it, and never to approach a horse from behind due to the risk of being kicked. Children need to be educated about the importance of approaching from the side. It’s also really important to teach young children how to interpret a horse’s body language and how to react in certain situations, for example, not to suddenly shout or run and the signs that show a horse is in distress or likely to lash out any minute. Your child should also be fully prepared to wear all of the required protective clothing needed for horse riding, from the right boots up to the riding helmet and should ideally get used to the feel of wearing it all before their first lesson. Horseback riding can be great for children and a really fun hobby but it’s worth getting your youngsters ready and prepared before they jump into the saddle. The Season of Suave: Holiday Fashion Tips for Men
The holiday season is upon us and with it comes maxed out credit cards, deciphering Christmas gift hints, and holiday parties. Even though one of those is actually enjoyable, you still don't come out unscathed -- unless you have a little too much eggnog. Sure, the intention of Christmas and holiday parties are to be a fun way to get together with friends, family, and coworkers and let loose. But there's a darker side to holiday parties -- and it's not Steve in Accounting's drunken dance moves. It's the dress code. Most hosts list what attired you're expected to wear to their holiday shindig. As if trying to figure out what to get your special lady for Christmas isn't enough confusion for you during the holidays. Well, have no fear. We're here to help. Check out our holiday guide to men's fashion in 2018. You'll never worry about the differences between "black tie" and "cocktail" ever again. Men's Fashion in 2018: Holiday Dress Code Guide: Decoding the holiday dress code for men isn't always easy. You can ask your lady what all the dress codes mean and likely have in the past. Or, you can surprise her this year by picking out your attire on your own. There are six main dress codes and you'll soon see you've been overcomplicating it this whole time. 1. Festive: Let's start out with the easiest one: the "festive" party. This attire is going to be casual, but calling it "casual" isn't very creative. You don't have to break out the ugly sweaters -- unless you're invited to an "ugly sweater party," of course. But, sweaters can be a classic and casual look perfect for a holiday get-together. Choose colors that are seasonal like red, green, and white, but go with deeper shades as opposed to bright ones. If you're the life of the party, be bold and go with tartan plaid. If you're more of an understated guy, keep with solid colors and add a touch of the holiday spirit to your socks. 2. Office: If your company opts to have a holiday party during your lunch break, you probably don't have to worry about your dress code. You'll already be in your business attire. But, if your boss decided to go off-campus for the company Christmas party, you may not be too sure what to wear. Keep it business casual if the dress code isn't mentioned. This means a nice blazer with an optional tie. Wear a button-down shirt with festive colors and a pair of slacks. Finish off your look with some loafers or moc boots. If you think your holiday office party will lean heavily to the casual side, a nice pair of dark, designer jeans (no holes!) can also work. Pro tip: If you're attending your holiday office party and booze will be involved, limit your alcohol intake. Every holiday party should only have one Steve and you don't want to be him. 3. Cocktail: Cocktail is the same as semi-formal. Think about what your wife or girlfriend will wear. She probably bought a dress or skirt either at or just above the knee. This is opposed to the floor-length gown she wore to your brother's fancy-schmancy wedding. See a correlation? You're going to want to follow suit (no pun intended) in your own way, of course. We'll break it down into tie and no-tie. A no-tie look works for cocktail attire if you rock a dark tailored suit with a white button-up. If you're a tie-guy, bypass the suit and opt for slacks and a button-up instead. Throw on a blazer and you're ready to go. Don't go with a boring black tie, though. Find a darker color that works for both the holidays and the rest of the year. Learn more about different patterns and materials and what looks best on you before deciding. Accessories will really add the finishing touches to your look. Shine up your Oxfords, wear a nice analog watch, and even get yourself a pocket square. You'll look suave and confident as soon as you walk into the party. 4. Black Tie: Remember when we said the festive dress code was the easiest? We lied. It's actually "black tie" for one simple reason. Black tie means tuxedo. Now, you may not have a Tom Ford tux hanging in your closet, and that's fine. You can either rent a tuxedo or go with a tailored three-piece suit instead. 5. Black Tie Optional: If "black tie" is the easiest, "black tie optional" is usually the most confusing. No, it doesn't mean wear what you want -- we know you'd rather wear sweats and a hoodie. It means you can wear a classic tux or something a little more creative. You can wear suspenders and a bow tie or a funky three-piece suit. As long as you keep it formal, you should be just fine. 6. White Tie: We've covered five dress codes so far and you've probably had no problem following along. Until now. "White tie" may sound like nothing you've ever heard of, but the truth is, you have. It's like black tie on steroids. White tuxedo tie, jacket with tails, the whole nine. That's what someone means when they tell you it's a "white tie event." Unless you're a celebrity or attend the Vienna Opera Ball every year, you likely don't own this kind of tux. You, of course, can rent one. And no, it won't be cheap. The bright side is that the traditional foot attire for white tie is velvet slippers, which will at least have your feet feeling like they're wearing sweats. You're Ready to Be the Fashionister of Every Holiday Party: Now that you're up to speed on the men's fashion in 2018 holiday dress codes, you should have no problem looking like a Hollywood A-lister on your own. But, if you still need some helpful tips, check out our 7 fashion tips exclusively for men. Read Also: Souq Fashion Outlet: Avail Up To 70% Off On Top Brands Top 10 Fashion Brands Of 2018

How Portable Metrology Tools Are Making Manufacturers More Flexible
So far, the 21st century has proven to be a period of intense change and rapid development in the world of manufacturing. As new technology has driven automation and given birth to Industry 4.0, North American manufacturing has become more financially viable, and a growing number of firms are taking advantage of the economic and political climate to re-imagine their supply lines and production models. Different Metrology Tools can work well for you. One area where this has had a particularly significant impact is in the tools and machinery manufacturers are using to meet their production needs.Metrology Tools can make things easier for you. For example, in order to find more flexible solutions to issues like quality assurance, many firms are turning to new tools like portable CMM equipment that help ensure their products meet the highest standards of quality, but which are versatile enough to serve a variety of different functions. Portable CMMs have quickly become one of the most popular metrology tools on the market, and are frequently used both to supplement more traditional, stationary CMM models like gantry or bridge CMMs, and as a replacement for them. Portable CMMs like ROMER Arms and laser scanners can offer a helpful supplement to standard manual-probe CMMs in part because they gather data much more quickly, which allows technicians to get quick, accurate measurements on parts that are still being produced for quality control purposes. But portable CMMs are also being put to other uses. In particular, portable CMMs have proven to reliable and useful tools for managing a wide range of metrology-related tasks, such as measuring existing parts to create CAD blueprints that can be used to reverse-engineer these parts. These functions have made portable CMMs indispensible for manufacturing companies who are exploring new products and building prototypes. At this vital stage, it is often necessary for designers to make manual changes to parts, and with portable CMMs, re-translating the new prototypes into CAD is easy. Because ROMER Arms, laser scanners, and white light scanners are mobile, they have become an indispensible way of gathering data from parts and products being built and designed off-site (in some cases, they are even seeing use in the construction industry, as a way of gathering precise, accurate data about structures that are still in the process of being built). The next six years are set to be a turbulent time in the manufacturing industry, and portable CMMs are precisely the kind of tool manufacturing businesses will need to adopt if they want to weather the uncertainty to come. While President Trump’s administration claims to be re-building the American manufacturing industry by bringing more manufacturing jobs back into North America, it is not yet clear what effect his much-vaunted tariffs will have. And with another presidential election only two years away, the industry may well see more upsets and sudden policy swings in the years to come. One thing is clear in all of this: the biggest winners will be those firms that are able to respond to the uncertainty of the times by becoming more flexible, versatile, and efficient. Preparation is Key to your Success a Presentation to Investors
You have a lot of things going on in your mind before you start presenting in public. Whether it is a public speech or a pitch in front of investors, you will lose confidence if you think of everything that could happen. You can’t do anything to change the situation, but you can do something to help you feel confident during the delivery. The best way to deal with your nerves is to prepare well for your speech. When you go on stage with everything ready, you know that everything will end well. Outline your speech: Some people are confident when everything that they need to say is on their paper or prompter. Others want bullet points, so they can continue discussing off the top of their head. As long as you can naturally present the critical message, it does not matter what strategy you use. You can also decide what type of notes to bring to make it easy for you to remember the essential topics you need to discuss. Do your research: You can keep talking about a lot of things that you know about, but what you know is not enough. You need to back your claims up using facts. You can research online or use statistics from research. You will also feel like an authority during your speech when you know that the information you are presenting is not only based on your opinion on the subject. Learn from others: It also helps if you take time to learn from other speakers. You can get ideas from them on how to speak in front of a crowd, or in front of potential investors. You don’t need to copy them since you have your own style. You can observe them and find out what strategies they use work. Prepare your visuals: If you keep talking for several minutes, you will lose your audience. Their brains will start drifting away and will no longer be interested with what you are saying. However, if you have exciting visuals, they can listen to you, and also get information from the visuals. Take your time to select the data to include in your visuals. You can use slides that you will project on the screen, or you can also hand out A4 presentation folders. You can even do both if you think they will help you in convincing people to buy what you are selling. Look good: Sometimes, your physical appearance will help you feel confident when you speak in public. Therefore, you need to prepare yourself well and dress up. You need to wear nice clothing for the event and the crowd you are talking to. There are things you can’t control when you present in public, but there are things you can prepare. Don’t expect everything to be perfect. You can learn from this experience and do better the next time. Eventually, you will find public speaking and presentations easy, but you still need to prepare well. 3 Tips on How to Prepare for Transferring to an American High School
The intake of foreign students by US high schools has been going down gradually, reports China Daily USA. The highest number of transfers currently comes from China (NBC News), but South Korea isn’t that far behind. These students, as well as all others who come to US high schools from foreign countries, face many challenges. Adapting to new circumstances is never easy for teenagers. Therefore, it’s essential to be well prepared to reduce the stress of this change. 3 Tips for International Students Transferring to an American High School Now, let's discuss the top 3 tips for international students transferring to an American high school at present. 1. Get into sports and/or other activities: Sports play an important part in American high schools, so a good way to ease integration is to join a team. Football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, track and field, tennis, and swimming are some of the most popular options. If you aren’t particularly talented in any kind of sport, you will have other activities to get into. Music and drama clubs are very common as well as school newspapers and science clubs. Getting involved in any activity will help the transfer student make new friends and assist with navigating the complex social hierarchy system of US high schools. 2. Get additional training in language and culture: Studying English to pass tests necessary for acceptance into a high school in class will help you get that acceptance. However, being immersed in a new culture and language is very different from the class environment. Getting some help with adaptation both before and during the transition will be a great help. One can work with tutors or get into specialized classes when arriving to the US. Joining extracurricular activities will also help learning both the language and culture. But if possible, one should get some prior experience. According to Forward Pathway, visiting specialized summer and winter camps for students can be an important step for smoothing out their integration. Such camps do not only help children learn more about American culture and improve their English. They get them some experience of the US educational system. Note that some cities in the US offer free English classes in libraries and community centers. Consider checking out those in your area as this will also help you meet new people and better integrate into the community. 3. Choose a high school wisely: It’s essential for international students to choose a high school that will be able to offer exactly what they need. Private high schools in the US might have specialized advanced classes and extracurricular activities that students will need for their future education. Unfortunately, the private education sector in the US is expensive. Public high schools, on the other hand, all comply with the state curriculum. Note that it’s decided by the state, so you need to check out the curriculum before deciding on the transfer destination. You will also need to check what kind of assistance the school can provide to ESL students. If you are looking for maximum immersion in the American culture, a public high school is the best. Private schools are the better choice for specialized education. Eating Versus Exercise With Your No Contract London Gym Membership
You have decided that you want to lose weight. The question is whether you need to address your diet or your exercise, and which of the two will have the most profound effect on helping you achieve your goals? Should you keep a food diary, eat “cleaner” or is it simply the case that you need to use your no-contract London gym membership a little bit more often? Here we try to give you an answer, and hopefully, by the end of the article, you’ll realise what work needs to be done, and where your focus should be. So if you’re looking to make a change, but are unsure in which direction to head off, then read on. Easy Formula: They say that the secret to losing weight is easy – you should all eat less and do more. Simple right? But if it were that easy, you would all eat less and do more! This is just a sweeping statement that doesn’t address the nuances of everyday reality – so, what about the real question, what is more important, eating or exercise? You will already know that you are meant to exercise moderately every day and of course that you should make every effort to eat a little healthier – less sugar, less saturated fat, and fewer calories. But again, it is very easy to say this, and very difficult for you to do it! Calories: They say that a pound of fat is “worth” about 2500 calories. So, if you want to lose that pound you need to become calorie deficient. If you are looking to lose around a pound a week, then by becoming calorie deficient by 500 or so calories a day will mean that you are 3500 calories down by the end of the week. If you do this, then you should lose that pound, and maybe a little more. But how do you get deficient in calories? Starvation isn’t the answer as it poses a real health risk. Think instead of that figure of 500 calories. Now think how long you’d need to be on a treadmill in order to burn those 500 calories, it’s a long time right! Then work out how to cut 500 calories from your diet, losing the biscuit with your tea maybe, or drinking less alcohol. Now doesn’t that seem easier to do than sweating on a treadmill for an hour or so?! Time: You need to think about the time that you engage in various activities. If you utilise your no-contract London gym membership 3 times a week for 2 hours a time, that’s 6 hours. However, that leaves 162 more hours when you are not training. Of course, those 6 hours are very important for improving your stamina, strength, toning, and muscularity, but it is clearly a very small percentage of your week. The impact that remaining 162 hours will have is clearly going to be greater. Now, of course, it is true that you do not have to be in the gym in order to exercise, and that you can do so at any time in the week, but the likelihood is that the real efforts will be confined to the gym, and anything else will just be a bonus. Increasing activity will help, if you use the stairs instead of the lift, walk an extra bus stop or better still take your dog out more, then you’ll get some benefit. But if you then spoil all of this through poor food choices, you’ll not only become disheartened, you’ll likely give up and then you’ll still have the poor diet, but with no exercise at all! That’s a real recipe for disaster. 80/20 They say that in terms of weight loss that there is an 80/20 split between diet and exercise with diet being the greater part. That doesn’t mean that your exercise should be ignored, or that it is simply unimportant, it isn’t, but it just puts it into perspective. Diet alone may not lose you as much weight as you’d want, nor will exercise alone be able to battle your poor food choices. What works is a combination of both. You do need to keep an honest food diary, take selfies of your body-shape and measurements, but you also do need to work up a sweat at the gym, push yourself and your body to new heights and work hard. You probably already knew the answer in the back of your mind, and it will not be easy. It will, however, be more than worth it, so make those changes today! How to Simplify Your Day to Have More Free Time
It’s been said that everyone has the same number of hours in the day, even Oprah. Why does it seem like some people have more time and get a lot more done? It’s not all due to having a full staff of chefs, personal trainers, housecleaners and drivers. There are some real strategies you can employ, many of which are used in professional wellness coaching, to simplify your day. A simpler life means having more free time. However, equally important is making sure you don’t go on to pack that new free time with activities. Taking time to rest, relax, and reflect is a necessary recharge that you’re going to need for a happier and healthier life. Getting more free time is just part of the process. It’s what you do with it that can really take your life to another level. Let’s start with simplification first. Here are a few ways you can take the complex out of your life on a daily basis: 1. Triage, don’t multi-task: Humans aren’t really made to multi-task, and in fact a very small percentage actually can. Instead, what we do is quickly switch back and forth between tasks. It might seem quick, but there is wasted and frustrated time during those switches. The more switching we do, like trying to feed a toddler while simultaneously holding a conversation with an adult, the worse we are at it. This means none of the people or tasks in our life get anywhere near our full attention. Instead of trying to multi-task, which is a doomed project, give one task your complete attention. Triage to gauge what’s most important or pressing. Finish that task, then move on to the next. 2. Ask yourself“Do I really need to be doing this?" with every task: There are going to be a lot of things you really should be doing, like flossing daily. However, there are also a lot of tasks that you do out of habit or guilt. A followup question might be, “Do I really need to be doing this right now?” This can be dangerous territory for procrastinators, so you have to know yourself before adopting this question. Getting rid of unnecessary tasks, or those that might even be harmful (like maintaining a relationship with a toxic friend) can free up an incredible amount of time. Asking yourself is step one. Actually taking steps to remove those tasks from your life can be very difficult and may require some professional mediation (such as talking with a therapist). 3. Get quality sleep: How can you get more free time by earmarking more time for sleep? It’s pretty simple. If you don’t get enough quality sleep, you’re only functioning at partial capacity. This means tasks will take longer and won’t be as enjoyable. Sleep requirements vary by person, and eight is just the average. However, remember that’s it’s also quality along with quantity. Good sleep hygiene includes avoiding a screen two hours before bed, establishing a good sleep ritual that cues your body and brain that it’s time to sleep, and getting rid of all technology in the bedroom. Treat yourself to an old-fashioned alarm clock and keep the phone in another room. 4. Stop distracting yourself with technology: Are you able to prepare lunch for yourself without having some form of technology for entertainment? Can you be in a space that’s quiet? When is the last time you picked up a real, tangible book without the white noise of a television or podcast in the background? Less is more can be scary at first, but it also retrains your brain and body to enjoy simplification. 5. Quiet your inner critic: In western countries, our cognitive conditioning is terrible. We talk horribly to ourselves, and our inner voice says things that we would never say to a friend or even a stranger. If you practice being kind to yourself, whether through audible affirmations or simply re-working your inner voice to be supportive, you can get rid of a lot of the dangerous white noise made by negative self-talk. Simplification isn’t the same for every person, and these are just a few ideas. Only you can unveil how you distract yourself and why. Getting rid of distractions, tasks, and even some relationships in your life can ease anxiety. It can also reduce depression. It can teach you to enjoy the present and your own company. However, this lifestyle isn’t a destination. It’s a lifelong practice where there will be good days and bad days. Don’t beat yourself up if you have a rough, complicated day. Instead, look forward to tomorrow when you can try again. Read Also: Five Benefits Of Meditation That Will Change Your Life 7 Tricks To Make Kayaking More Enjoyable

Finding the Right Hospital
In 2016, 7.3 percent of Americans took a trip to the hospital that required an overnight stay, according to numbers from the Centers for Disease Control. There were also 136.9 million visits to hospital emergency rooms that year, although some of those were certainly repeat visits. By the time you’re in the back of an ambulance, you might not be in a position to make requests about which hospital you’re taken to. But if you do have some say in the matter, you’ll want to be prepared, so here are some topics worth further investigation. Essential Facts To Consider While Finding A Hospital Do they accept your insurance? Even the most ardent defenders of the American healthcare system can acknowledge that’s it often very confusing. Not everyone knows that patients are entitled by law to receive emergency treatment, regardless of whether or not they have enough money to pay the bill. That’s thanks to a law passed in 1986 called the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act. Among other things, it requires hospitals “to medically screen every patient who seeks emergency care and to stabilize or transfer those with medical emergencies, regardless of health insurance status or ability to pay.” Unfortunately, stabilizing a patient isn’t the same thing as treating the underlying condition. Even if you do have insurance that the hospital accepts, they may demand at least partial payment upfront. In late 2016, NPR reported that more hospitals are requiring patients to pay thousands of dollars for medical procedures before they’re performed. Asking if your insurance is accepted may not be enough. You may also want to ask when you’re expected to provide the first payment. If they need it before surgery, it’s better to know now rather than be surprised a couple of hours before you go into the operating room. Do patients give them good reviews? Locating reliable reviews of hospitals is tricky. First of all, customers are much more likely to leave a bad review than a good one. That’s because good or at least neutral expectations are the baseline. Things often have to be either really good or really bad for us to consider writing a review of the experience. Think about what you had for dinner last night. Unless it was something like the best or worst meal you’ve had, you probably don’t remember many specific details. It can be hard to know which reviews to trust, but looking at multiple reviews across many sites will improve your chances of getting a full picture of how patients feel. Look for patterns in reviews as well. If one person says a doctor ridiculed her, that’s weird but not exactly reliable. If ten people say that, then either there’s a coordinated campaign to trash the doctor or, more likely, this doctor really does insult patients. Have they been sued a lot? Search local news for any recent mentions of your local hospitals. You can also search for the name of the hospital plus “lawsuit” to see how often they get sued for things like medical malpractice. Every hospital gets sued sometimes, and that’s why doctors and medical professionals carry insurance. But you want to make sure there’s not a trend of people leaving the hospital worse than when they came in. People typically go to hospitals to get better, and if they don’t, they’ll end up looking for a medical malpractice attorney once they’re out. Look for signs that the hospital’s culture is problematic. One bad doctor is an issue, but if half the staff can’t do their job right, then something has gone terribly wrong inside that facility. You don’t want to get treated at a hospital that’s in the midst of an institutional crisis. Read Also: Everything You Need To Know About Term Insurance Plan Premium Have You Heard Of Upcoding? Dress for Success: 4 Tips to Look (and Feel) Like a Confident Man
You've always wanted to be the confident guy that commands the attention of everyone in the board meeting, and that gets numbers thrown at him in the local bar. However, you've sometimes wondered if it's your slovenly style, as opposed to your personality, that's getting you passed over for dates and promotions. In this post, we'll tell you how you can dress like a confident man -- even when you don't actually feel like one. Read on to learn how the right clothes can communicate an air of experience, control, and even approachability. We bet that, once you follow these tips, you'll walk with a little more swagger in your step. 1. Have Your Clothing Tailored: A tailor can make even an affordable suit from the discount bin look like it was created especially for you. Plus, especially with sizing as inconsistent as it is these days, taking your clothing to a tailor ensures that your sleeves are the right length, and that your slacks aren't covering half of your feet. Plus, well-fitting clothing means that you can show off the body you've been working so hard for in the gym! We guarantee that you'll feel like a totally confident man when you're wearing clothing that works with your height and your body shape. Plus, taking one of your best-loved (put perhaps a little well-worn) suits or shirts to the tailor can give it a completely new and modern look. Everyone will assume you were able to get a bespoke made especially for you. 2. Invest in the Right Accessories: No, we don't mean that you have to start piling on the man jewelry -- though if that's your thing, you should totally go for it. Instead, getting the right accessories to turn you into a confident guy who can command the attention of any room is all about knowing how to make the right investments. There are a few accessories that every man needs in his wardrobe. First, invest in a leather briefcase or a messenger bag. This will make you feel like you have somewhere important to go (even if all you're really doing is heading to your local grocery store.) We love the idea of a messenger bag that's been stamped with your initials, to give it a more personalized touch. You also need to ensure that you have a few essential shoes that all confident men have in their own closets. If you don't have a pair of Chelsea boots, some black and brown dress shoes, and one "wild card" shoe (like a fun pair of velvet slippers or some designer sneakers?) Invest in some now. Not only can a nice pair of shoes pull a whole outfit together. You'll likely actually end up saving on shoes because you're not buying a $100 pair that will fall apart after every season. Shop for the long game. Finally, make sure you've explored all your options when it comes to watches for men. Whether you're on the hunt for a bold, look-at-me statement watch, a dive watch, or even if you'd prefer to go digital? The right watch can make you feel like the confident man you've always wanted to be. 3. Good Grooming is Key: A confident man is also one that takes good grooming and skincare seriously. Even the most expensive and fabulous designer suit can end up looking cheap if it's worn with unwashed hair, an unkempt beard, and a unibrow. Especially as more and more men feel comfortable getting more into grooming rituals, we encourage you to explore which ones you're the most interested in trying out for yourself. You don't have to go out to the most cutting-edge salon in town and drop hundreds of dollars on the most fashionable haircut of the moment. Instead, it's about regular maintenance of the classic cuts you love. It's also about making sure your nails look healthy, taking care of unwanted body hair, or just doing any kind of grooming ritual that makes you feel good. Plus, many companies are making beauty products geared specifically towards men. This means you won't have to raid your girlfriend's bathroom cabinet anymore. 4. Don't Let Trends Turn You into a Fashion Victim: Dad sneakers, skinny ties, and street style may be the latest thing in men's fashion. But if you truly want to know how to be a confident man, you need to get real with yourself about whether or not an overly-trendy outfit is making you look like a try-hard. If a "trend" isn't something that you'd normally wear in real life? Perhaps it's better left on the runways as opposed to in your closet. Instead, focus on timeless pieces. Instead of spending $400 on a fanny pack (yes, it happens) put that money towards an elegant Italian leather wallet or a well-tailored white dress shirt. If you love dressing en vogue, we suggest to wearing one trend at a time. After all, you don't want to end up looking like a fashion magazine thew up on you. Become a Confident Man with These Tips: You've heard the saying, "Dress for the job you want, not the one you have." The same can be said of "dressing like the man you want to become." Eventually, you won't feel like you're pretending to be a confident man anymore. You'll realize that you've always been one all along, but that you just needed a few style updates to remind you of that. So, what else can you do to upgrade your looks, your lifestyle, and your wardrobe? No matter your job, your income level, or the kinds of things you like, we'll help you to learn more about how to express yourself the right way.
