Top 5 Facts To Know About Geiger

Facts To Know About Geiger

If you’re an avid fan of comics produced by the independent company Image Comics, you’ve probably heard the buzz about Geiger, a new post-apocalyptic series. Here are the top five facts to know about the series before you head to your favorite store to purchase all the available issues.

1. It’s Made by Experienced Comics Creators

Geiger is not the work of inexperienced artists, and you can tell the moment you look at the cover. Geoff Johns, who’s known for his work on Batman: Three Jokers, writes the series, and Gary Frank, who’s known for his work on Supergirl and Action Comics, illustrates it.

2. It Takes Place in a New Universe

Instead of exploring the worlds so often developed in comics, Geiger does not take place in the Marvel or DC universe. Instead, it’s set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The Earth is covered with radioactivity, the remnants of a devastating nuclear war. The remaining humans must try to continue their lives without conflicts with the other hopeless, distrustful survivors.

3. There Are 5 Issues Planned

Image Comics has five issues of Geiger planned for release in 2021. The first one, which originally features a mysterious silhouette against a nuclear mushroom cloud in the shape of a skull, came out on April 7, 2021. This issue is 32 pages long, and the others should be around the same length. Since Geiger’s debut, new issues have been released monthly, and the final issue is set for August 4, 2021.

4. There Are Multiple Covers

Several issues of Geiger have already sold out, and Image Comics has started selling some of them under different covers. For example, in its second printing, the first issue’s cover is black, white, and green. It features a semi-transparent skull against an irregular green oval that has wisps of smoke coming off it.

The rest of the background is completely black, except for the printing details. As a result, don’t get confused if you go to the store and see lots of different designs. If you’re a true comic fanatic, you’ll try to collect them all.

5. The Title Character Is Not What He Seems

The title character is a mystery not just to readers but also to the other people in his community. Living alone in an area so destroyed by nuclear waste that no one else will go there, Geiger is often called the Glowing Man. However, he’s actually named Tariq Geiger, and he loves his wife and children deeply.

They’re stuck in a fallout shelter, waiting for Geiger to make the world safe for them again. Geiger, who has been exposed to the radioactive environment outside the shelter, can use radioactivity to fight other people. He also no longer gets hurt when he walks through his environment without protection. While these qualities allow him to protect his family, they also make the people around him see him as a monster.

Now that you’ve got all the context you need, it’s time to catch up on the latest issues of Geiger before the new one is released.

Why The Best Time To Relax Is When You Don’t Have Time For It

Why The Best Time To Relax Is When You Don’t Have Time For It

How many times have you been out and about all day wrapping up some mundane but important tasks? Imagine visiting the bank to resolve some issue the phone-based customer service could not handle and suddenly you notice that blinking indicator which shows that your phone is dying. There are many places where a quick charge can be done, but for one reason or another, the charger was left at home. Most persons would experience a paroxysm of frustration and grief because the phone is needed to get the final bits of the day’s business done. In the same way that our devices will need a periodic charge to keep on going, our minds, bodies, and souls also need a time of rest, relaxation and most of all restoration to keep on overcoming the struggles of life.    The Need to Relax The idea of the “olden days” back when life was simpler is a nostalgic notion where many will say yes, we need to go back there. Looking deeply into those days will show the reader that our ancestors were just as busy as we are today. Many had jobs to attend to for six or seven days a week, others had businesses to run and some had a field with animals to tend to. In the 1800s for example, the standard work week was seventy hours long. The “provincial” lifestyle required an early rise to maximize the sunlight and hard work with long hours throughout the day. In the same way, our modern lives are hectic, busy and fraught with troubles. Constantly dealing with problems will make a person weary and tired, hence God instituting a day for rest and worship. Being too busy has a silent and hidden debilitating effect on a person’s outlook on life. If you are constantly busy, tired and just going, when do you get a chance to reflect on yourself? If your mind is always occupied with other concerns, when do you reflect your actions, your state of mind, and most importantly how do you prepare yourself from attacks of the enemy? Learn to Refuse Some Tasks The constant barrage of issues and tasks will cause a person to forget what being fully charged and connected feels like. Always having something pressing at work, always having to help family and friends and then having to face yourself if you fail can be a bit much. Remember we are all human; we are to maximize our talents and serve our fellow man, but in the end, too much service without the Lord will cause us to fail. In Matthew God gave us an important instruction “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Becoming whole again begins with having restful sleep. The Lord gives His peace to those He loves. So anything preventing a great time while sleeping needs to be put before Him and removed from your life.

What Happens To Viktor In Arcane? – The Unlimited Guide

League of Legends got lucky in the hands of French Studio when its much-anticipated animated Netflix adaptation Arcane was released to universal acclaim. Its endearing characters like sisters Jinx and Vi and the world of Piltover and Zaun were its main attractions. However, some famous playable characters from the game appeared as their past selves before transforming into something else entirely. One such character is Viktor Arcane, a genius scientist at odds with the Academy, Heimedinger, and rival Jayce, voiced by Harry Lloyd. Even though he is depicted as a villainous and mechanized cyborg in the games, Arcane shows him as an aspiring scientist before his metallic transformation and apparent fall from grace. If you know all about this character and his fate in the ending scenes of Season 1, I have more information for you. Therefore, keep on reading to learn more about Viktor. Who Is Viktor Arcane? Image Source: www.looper.com Viktor is a driven Zaunite inventor who lives in Piltover and works as Jayce Talis Jayce Talis' partner. Viktor, who came from the undercity and was formerly hired by Heimerdinger. Heimerdinger, as his assistant, worked his way up through the Academy with the hopes of bettering people's lives. But, when he learned he was terminally sick, his research became more challenging. He, though, seems unfazed by his illness and is unwavering in his pursuit of a solution. Viktor Arcane Early Life Image Source: cdnb.artstation.com Viktor, who was born in the underground city of Zaun years ago, grew up in a low-income household in the dirty Undercity. He had to use a cane to get around because he was conceived with a disability in his right leg. This made it challenging for someone like him to interact with the other kids, but beyond his physical limitations and isolation, the little boy was smart and creative, with a talent for building machines on the nights he was alone. Viktor came into an underground dungeon with a secret lab one day while fiddling with a miniature boat in the river. He encountered Singed, a Zaunite alchemist who was intrigued by the little boy's skill. When Viktor saw Rio, a weird animal that Singed characterized as just a "rare mutation" he was attempting to save from death, his curiosity overcame his initial fear of the elderly man. Singed dispatched Viktor to gather resources for him after the monster, and Viktor immediately made friends. Singed accepted Viktor's offer to assist him in his research. Their alliance wouldn't last long, though, as Viktor quickly found that Singed had tortured Rio to maintain the genetic material of the mutation by keeping her alive through implants and potions, a practice that had put her in a condition of chronic anguish. This shocking information caused the youngster to flee Singed's lab, weeping. How Does Viktor Look Like? Image Source: rare-gallery.com Viktor was a thin human with white skin, amber eyes, and brown hair in his pre-augmentation state. He had a congenital defect that prevented him from walking and running normally, necessitating the use of a walking stick. His health problems would significantly deteriorate as he was exposed to Zaunite pollution. Viktor would gradually begin replacing his bodily parts ever since he began dabbling in self-augmenting Hextech projects. His right leg and hand were the first portions of his body to be magically changed by the Hexcore's abilities with the help of Shimmer. Later, he would switch to mechanical augmentations, replacing only a few of his bodily parts. What Happens To Viktor At The End Of Arcane Season 1? Image Source: static1.dualshockersimages.com Who survived Jinx's final season-ending prank is one of the questions that fans who watched the show and are eager for a new season have on their thoughts. At the dramatic climax, viewers witnessed a rocket launched by Jinx using an arcane crystal fly across the blood-red sky and smash into the council meeting room's glass. Although there are no indications as to who survives this incident, there are several theories floating about as to who might make it out alive and who might not. According to the assumption that no playable League of Legends characters would perish since they are essential to the investment from fans of the franchise, Viktor (Harry Lloyd) is another essential character who is anticipated to escape the explosion. Of course, we may always be incorrect, but Viktor's arc would also need to be completed. The last time we see Viktor in his own narrative, he has recently lost a close friend and scientist due to his self-preservation efforts. It will eventually remain in the hands of the showrunners to decide if Viktor has an opportunity at atonement or if that encounter with the last viewers marked the end of his time on the show, since he appears to be at his lowest position ever. What Will Happen To Viktor In Arcane Season 2? Image Source: static1.srcdn.com Viktor has a long way to go before resembling the League of Legends machine herald in any meaningful way. His health will probably deteriorate in Arcane season 2 as Viktor adds technology to his body to lengthen his life. This could provide new information about the scary Hex-Core and its effects on Viktor. Viktor's Character Early On In Arcane In the early episodes of "Arcane," Viktor's character is a brilliant yet introverted inventor, bringing a unique blend of intelligence and vulnerability to the show. As a gifted scientist in the utopian city of Piltover, he's deeply passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology to help those in need. However, his reserved demeanor and tragic past make him a complex figure. His empathy for the oppressed underclass in the city of Zaun, where he grew up, sets him on a path of moral conflict. Viktor's character early in "Arcane" is a relatable mix of ambition and internal struggles, drawing viewers into his world. His inventions and relentless pursuit of progress showcase his genius, but his personal demons and the choices he faces create a captivating narrative. With a deep focus on character development, "Arcane" provides a nuanced portrayal of Viktor that keeps viewers engaged and invested in his journey throughout the series. What About Viktor's Transformation In Arcane? Viktor's transformation in Arcane is nothing short of extraordinary. This character undergoes a compelling evolution throughout the series, making him a central figure in the League of Legends-inspired show. At the start, Viktor is a brilliant but idealistic inventor, dreaming of a better future for his hometown, Piltover. He's driven by a desire to harness the power of Hextech, a magical energy source, for the benefit of all. However, his noble intentions become corrupted as he's drawn into a web of political intrigue and power struggles. As the story unfolds, we witness Viktor's gradual descent into darkness. His initial altruism gives way to a ruthless pursuit of power and control. His body undergoes cybernetic enhancements, and he becomes more machine than man. This transformation mirrors his emotional shift from a caring scientist to a cold, calculating antagonist. Viktor's character arc serves as a cautionary tale, illustrating how good intentions can pave the path to villainy. His journey also explores themes of the cost of progress and the blurred line between right and wrong. Arcane masterfully presents Viktor's transformation, drawing viewers into his complex world and making them question the consequences of their own choices. It's a compelling narrative that leaves a lasting impression, making Viktor one of the standout characters in the series. Why Modern Users Prefer Streaming

TV was once our go-to medium for entertainment, not only in the USA but in the whole world. That’s because at that time it was the only convenient and cost-effective source of visual entertainment. Although cinemas were in the visual entertainment scene way before the television, in fact, they date back to the 1930s while the TV only came to fruition in the 50s. But TV can’t be compared to cinemas because cinema is a once-a-while activity through which, viewers prefer to watch either newly released blockbuster films or to just go to as a pastime activity with friends or family. On the other hand, cable TV is a medium that was conveniently present in every household and users can just watch their favorite content by just turning it on. Cable TV that Americans have more than 200 million TV and considering our population there is at least two TVs for every person. This was mainly due to major reasons, first and foremost that cable TV was the only visual medium of entertainment, the second one being the cost-effectiveness of cable compared to going to cinemas every other day. This immense love of cable was the reason how many cable providers in the industry made billions of dollars. Take the example of Cox Cable, which is the third-largest cable company in the country with 2.9 million digital cable subscribers. Cox Communications rakes in millions in revenue just through its cable services. But these providers have also realized that the golden days between the two are almost gone. This is exactly because of the absence of those two reasons which we discussed above that made cable TV the prime of visual entertainment. The Streaming Coup The primary factors behind cable’s rise to supremacy were not being much of a competition and the other one being its cost-effectiveness. Unfortunately, both these factors were lost due to technological advancements because now, not only many platforms are giving tough competition to cable TV but also cable TV has raised prices quite significantly. Due to these two major reasons consumers are looking to switch to alternatives like streaming that not only provides much more in terms of the content lineup but is also quite cost-effective. Reasons To Prefer Streaming: Today we hear the term cord-cutting everywhere. That’s because the number of people opting to cut their cable TV cords has increased significantly. Cord-cutting has taken the shape of a full-fledged trend today in which people in hordes are ditching their cable setups in favor of streaming platforms. But why has this happened, we’ll take a look at those reasons below? 1. Content Variety And Numerous Options First and foremost, there are lots of options regarding what a user wants to watch on these streaming services. These platforms are not restricted to showing the viewers what’s been televised on their regular channels, instead, viewers have thousands of hours of content readily available at their fingertips so that they can watch whatever they want whenever they want. Plus, the content lineup consists of various original and licensed series from different parts of the world available in many languages with translation or subtitles. So users can experience content from all around the globe through these streaming services. Apart from that, in the beginning, there was only Netflix that was the sole flag bearer of this streaming trend but over the years there are many new platforms both free and paid that are offering numerous types of content for users to watch. Apart from shows, these services also make their original films on which millions of dollars are spent and include the cast of Hollywood A-listers. Plus, new and vintage classic films are also licensed by these platforms, so all in all, users get a much more diverse content lineup from a number of streaming services to choose from. You May Also Check: 5 Ways to Stream Free Movies and TV Shows on Your Smartphone 2. Cost-Effectiveness The other major factor behind people opting for streaming as their go-to entertainment option is that these services are incredibly cost-effective. Considering that the world is going through a financial recession and the buying power of a regular consumer has shrunk quite a bit, this makes it increasingly difficult for cable users to keep paying their heavy bills. On average, a cable connection costs somewhere between 200$ to 300$, that’s way too much considering the current economic landscape. On the flip side, a streaming subscription costs a user somewhere between 8$ to 15$ on average, which is quite cost-effective in comparison to traditional cable services. Plus, with this cost, a user can have subscriptions to more than one streaming service which would give them a wide variety of content, still at a way less price. Most American households already have an internet connection, and for streaming, you just need the internet and a subscription to these platforms. So in retrospect, it made no sense to consumers to pay extra for a service that they can easily have through the internet, at a much lower cost. 3. Ease of Use One of the important reasons why millennials are leaning toward streaming is because of the ease and convenience that these platforms offer. Streaming services are not dependent on cable connections, unlike traditional cable TV setups. So, the factor of portability is there with streaming which users are unable to find on cable TV. Plus, millennials are a fast-moving society that likes to do everything on the go. In today’s world, no one has time to sit back and watch their favorite shows, people like to watch stuff while waiting in the commutes, during office breaks, or even during work. This requires that they have the ability to watch content on their portable devices like laptops and smartphones. And we all know that all major streaming services have apps that work on smartphones, laptops, and even smart TVs allowing users to watch their favorite content not only on the go through their phones but on big-screen smart TVs as well. Conclusion Streaming is no doubt the primary entertainment medium of the future, and that future is not far. Considering how many people are adopting streaming, it is estimated that it will take over half of cable TV’s market as early as 2024. This makes sense considering all the benefits that streaming has to offer in comparison to cable TV, the likes of which are mentioned above.
