Travel Destinations in Africa

There are so many magical countries just waiting to be explored in Africa, each home to an array of wildlife, beautiful beaches, and diverse cultures that are interesting, fascinating and educational, exposing travelers to a whole new part of the world that they might not have known much about.

In this article we are going to look at three of Africa’s incredible countries and what they have to offer travellers in terms of adventure, experiences and accommodation, hopefully helping you to choose where you want to go on your next yearly vacation. Take a look:

Morocco:

Ideal for the perfect summer adventure, Morocco is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and luxury beach resorts, making it the ideal place to go on a beach holiday at a luxury hotel and escape the hustle and bustle of your hometown (and stress from your job). Most of the beach resorts and beaches in Morocco offer a wide variety of water sports that will get travellers’ adrenaline pumping, as well as golden sand perfect for laying your towel down on and catching some warm rays. But that’s not all this incredible country has to offer travellers. This vibrant country has a number of cities that offer travellers different ways to gain insight into its culture, traditional cuisine, religion and history, including visiting historical monuments like the ruins of Volubilis, going to visit the Berber villages, experiencing the numerous souks (great for tasting traditional dishes) and taking a tour of the imperial cities.

Botswana:

Botswana

If you’re looking for the best place to go on a safari holiday, Botswana is the place to visit. A beautiful landlocked country that is boarded by Zimbabwe, South Africa and Namibia, Botswana is home to the Big Five (which includes the African lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, African leopard and White/Black rhinoceros), the Okavango Delta (which is located within the Kalahari basin) and an array of flora, fauna and extensive birdlife. What’s more, travelers have the opportunity to learn about the country’s inhabitants and culture by visiting Tsodilo to see the cave paintings. Accommodation options in this breath-taking country are vast and vary depending on which city or area travelers are staying in. Some of the options include luxury safari lodges – including Chobe Game Lodge at Chobe National Park, one of the best locations to visit for a safari holiday – to a range of bed and breakfast options and hotels in the cities – including the Grand Palm Hotel in Gaborone.

Rwanda:

With the nickname “Land of a Thousand Hills”, it’s no surprise that Rwanda is an outdoor adventurer and animal lover’s paradise with its green, mountainous landscape and the Volcanoes National Park (that is home to mountain gorillas and golden monkeys as well as three extinct volcanoes and six active volcanoes). The Congo and Uganda border this breath-taking landlocked country, but there is plenty of fun to be had on the shores of Lake Kivu – one of Africa’s great lakes – including a range of water sports. What’s more, Rwanda is a sanctuary for both coffee and tea lovers, as it is the country’s biggest export, meaning that there are a number of tea plantations waiting to be explored. When it comes to accommodation, there are a number of incredible places travelers can rest their head – my favorite being the Mountain Gorilla View Lodge that you will find nestled at the bottom of Mount Sabinyo.

If you’re looking for your next great adventure, why not go to one of the above-mentioned African countries on your next yearly vacation? There is no doubt that you will return home with a new perspective of the continent and with some incredible stories to tell you, friends and family, about. You won’t regret it!

Reasons to Stay in a Vacation Home Rather Than a Hotel

You might be looking forward to your much-needed vacation to rest and relax after working so hard. The first thing on your mind would be to book accommodation that will help you achieve your goals whether you are with your family, friends or significant other. One of the most popular options these days is vacation rentals, as opposed to conventional hotels. Vacation rentals can be luxurious houses, cabins, condos, or even small houses. There are plenty of options you can find, and they can be as small or big as you desire. People also purchase timeshares which give them shared ownership and rights to a vacation property for a set amount of time on a yearly basis. This can be one of the most cost-effective ways to travel regularly. However, if things don't really work out and you want to opt-out of your timeshare, you could read here for the best way to cancel your timeshare. Here are the reasons why vacation rentals are becoming more popular than hotels. Bigger space The average size of a typical hotel room is 325 square feet. Vacation rentals can be twice as big, or even more. A vacation rental allows you to rent a whole house rather than just a room. Why limit yourself? The choice is yours to make. Bigger savings  In general, vacation rentals are more economical than hotels. You can save more if you divide the expenses with your other companions or if you save a bit on your food by cooking your own dishes. Availability You can find vacation rentals in different locations, making it better than hotels if you want to stay in a place that is not filled with so many tourists or in a more remote area. Booking a vacation home may be the solution to stay close to a particular attraction. Perfect for large groups If you are traveling with a large group, chances are you will be booked in separate rooms in a hotel. With a vacation home, you can stay together in nice accommodation. This gives you the chance to enjoy each other’s company in a cozy place or do fun bonding activities without the limitation of space. This makes vacation rentals perfect for big families or a large group of workmates. Before booking, make sure to check the maximum number of persons allowed to stay. Well-equipped kitchen Cooking your own meals can save you a lot, especially if you are traveling as a group. Home rentals are equipped with cooking equipment that allows you to cook whatever you like, which might not always be possible in a hotel. This also allows you to live like a local by experiencing going to the local market for a truly local experience. Most vacation homes also offer laundry facilities. Vacation homes can be your home away from home. The true beauty of staying in one of these relaxing homes is experiencing what it is like to be a local. Most of these accommodation options are located in residential areas and not in touristy hotspots. This gives you the chance to join town fairs or activities, visit local shops or interact with locals for a more enriching experience. 5 Best Beaches and Beachfront Attractions in Santa Cruz, CA

California is home to some of the world's most popular beaches, and on California's coastline, you'll find one of its best beach towns, Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is is a city along the Monterey Bay that provides beach-goers with an endless array of activities and attractions. If you're planning a trip to Santa Cruz, California, consider visiting some of these beaches and beachfront attractions. Natural Bridges State Beach: Natural Bridges State Beach is hands down one of the most beautiful beaches in Santa Cruz. Whereas other beaches have become overrun with bars, restaurants, and other attractions, Natural Bridges State Beach has preserved its austere grandeur. It's also a California state park with biking and hiking trails, picnic areas, tidepools, and is known for its Monarch Grove — a temporary home for Monarch Butterflies in the winter. Santa Cruz Main Beach: Santa Cruz's Main Beach is a popular stop for tourists and locals alike. It's close to Santa Cruz's most popular hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, and of course, the Boardwalk. Main Beach runs from the San Lorenzo River to the Santa Cruz Wharf, which is a large wooden pier with dining, shopping, and entertainment options. Even though Main Beach is one of the largest beaches in Santa Cruz, it quickly becomes crowded because of the many attractions surrounding it — so be sure to get there early for a great spot! Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk: Image via Flickr by sneedy Adjacent to Main Beach in Santa Cruz's most popular beachfront attraction — the Boardwalk. After you've finished basking in the sun at the beach, explore the Boardwalk. From roller coasters and family rides to arcades and games of skill, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has a multitude of activities for kids and adults.
