Everything You Need to Know About Self-Parking Kiosks

Self-parking kiosks make managing carparks easier and better than the usual parking facility. The main advantage of parking kiosks for business owners is their ability to make the customer's parking experience better. Long parking queues are eliminated, and payments are always secured. Additionally, modern self-parking kiosks like Aria are made interactive to address customer needs better. Here’s everything you need to know about this amazing technology. Offers Secured Way of Paying: Self-parking kiosk systems vary from one manufacturer to another, but one thing remains the same—their level of security. These kiosks are made to provide secure payment solutions not just for the customers but for the business who owns the machine. Payments can be made through a mobile application, via credit card, or by scanning the barcode on the ticket. Because most people are now leaning towards a cashless economy, it only makes sense to offer cashless payment options. Here’s how credit card payments are processed: The customer selects the duration of stay. The customer inserts or swipes the credit card into the machine. The customer waits for the machine to dispense a parking ticket. The customer collects the parking ticket and places it on their dashboard so attendants can easily spot them. Customers who wish to cancel the transaction can do so by pressing cancel before the machine dispenses a parking ticket. Here is how mobile payments are processed: A customer selects the duration of stay and chooses a mobile payment option. They wait for the machine to dispense the parking ticket. They can scan the barcode on their ticket using their smartphone. The barcode should direct the customer to the mobile application or to a website where they can pay for the parking fee or apply validations. These steps may vary, but this is essentially how these payments are being processed. Customer Service Ready: A reliable self-parking kiosk should offer a system where businesses can manage parking customers. The system's dashboard gives parking supervisors and attendants an overview of the parking traffic and how many tickets are dispensed. Moreover, the dashboard also generates reports when you need them. Some self-parking kiosks have cameras and speakers installed into them so that attendants can quickly assist customers who encounter a problem. The system can also take a photo of the car for future references and security reasons. Here are some other customer-service-related tasks you should be able to do on your dashboard: Offer online reservations Change parking rates Open and close parking gates manually Review transaction history Customize data views View other parking garages with self-parking kiosks Gives You Important Data: In this day and age, data is everything. When you have data, you have power over your business. You might be wondering as to what information a self-parking kiosk can provide. Data such as wait times, duration of stay, occupancy rate, and payment types can be gathered from these kiosks. These data can be correlated to customer behaviors. For example, if you have a hotel business and have installed a kiosk in your parking garage, you can get the data as to when there is a high demand for customer parking. You can then use this historical data to create a more effective pricing strategy just like what you see with ride-sharing services who react based on the demand present. Customizable: These things aren't just a large metal box hanging out in your parking garage. You can customize your kiosks so that it reflects your branding and shows your logo. Having a customized kiosk will prevent confusion from your customers, especially if your parking facility is in a high-traffic location. Here are other things that you can customize: Screen idle display – You can customize the idle display so that it uses your branding colors and shows your logo. This kind of customization helps increase brand awareness and reliability. Advertisements – You can also place ads on the screen while the kiosk prints out the ticket. Customization like this helps you generate additional income. Text and button sizes – Establishments who frequently cater to senior citizens or persons with disability will benefit significantly with this kind of customization. They can make the text sizes on the screen bigger and make the buttons easily understandable for their parking customers. Conclusion: Parking is part of the overall customer journey, and if your customers’ parking experience is poor, they may have a bad impression of your establishment already even before actually doing business with you. It's time to take your business to the digital age and start employing self-parking kiosks. They don't just make parking more comfortable. They also help elevate the customer experience. Safety Valves

Why Use Safety Valves? Introduction to Safety Valves

A safety valve is one of the important mechanical devices used in several industrial applications to protect systems from overpressure. Excess pressure build-up in the system can cause explosions, fires, and damages to critical components and products. Safety valves are designed to stop these problems by reducing or removing excess pressure from the system. They are specially designed to be actuated by the fluid being controlled; hence, it works when pneumatic or electronic safety controls fail. Below, we have covered more about safety valves: types, working principles, applications, selection criteria, and everything in between. Safety Valve Working Principle The general working mechanism of safety is simple. When the pressure of a system exceeds the maximum allowable working pressure (MWAP), safety valves quickly open to remove the excess pressure before it even builds up. These valves are fast-acting, and they open fully until the system pressure comes back to normal. Most safety valves have a smaller inlet port and a larger discharge outlet. This ensures that any overpressure can be quickly corrected without damaging the sensitive machine parts. The detailed working principle of safety valves from opening to closing depends on the design and application of the valve. We've highlighted more on this below. Types of Safety Valves and Use Cases There are three main types of safety valves. These are: Spring-loaded safety valves Pilot-operated safety valves Safety valves with balanced bellows a. Spring-loaded Safety Valves This is one of the most common types where the valve is held closed by a spring, and the balance between the input force and the spring force determines the closing and opening of the valve. Most spring-loaded valves used in everyday applications come with a flat poppet valve, but those designed for specific liquids and gases come with varying valve shapes. Some even come with a lifting chamber that provides more lift, reducing the time it takes to eliminate the excess pressure in a system. Spring-loaded valves for vapor and gases often open before the MWAP is reached, and the valve is lifted at least 50% at the MWAP. The problem with this type is increased backpressure that interferes with the safety of the valve. Backpressure is defined as the pressure that builds upon the outlet of the safety valve as the fluid medium flows out. Most spring-loaded valves are available for pressure ranges between 1 bar and 1400 bar. Figure 2: (A) Expansion chamber, (B) Spring, (C) Disc, (D) Nozzle ring (E) Nozzle. b. Valves with Balanced Bellows This type of safety valve comes with metallic bellows that increase the poppet valve's surface area. The benefit to this is reduced backpressure hence more safe operation. The spring mechanism is also isolated from the fluid media; thus, there's no undesirable influence on the spring force. That said, most valves with balanced bellows are designed to handle backpressure not exceeding 16 bar. c. Pilot-operated Safety Valves A pilot-operated safety valve has its popper valve held onto the nozzle by the inlet pressure, helping avoid leaks or undesired openings. When the inlet pressure is lower than the maximum working pressure, the safety valve will always remain open. However, as soon as the inlet pressure goes beyond the response pressure, the valves open instantly, allowing the media to flow and reducing the pressure. As soon as the pressure comes back to normal, the valve closes. All three types of safety valves find applications in different industrial settings. Some of the common areas where safety valves are used include oil and gas, manufacturing, food processing plants, refineries, pressure booster systems, and more. Choosing a Safety Valve Before picking a safety valve in the flooded market, you should always consider the following: The response pressure or the maximum allowable working pressure. The backpressure at which the valve can operate without causing safety issues. The discharge capacity of the safety valve. The valve's operating temperature. Valve and sealing material. Besides the above factors, you should also check the certifications required for your specific industry. For instance, safety valves used in the oil and gas industry will vary significantly from those used in the beverage and food industry. Some of the common certifications and standards in the market include ASME, TUV, and ISO 4126. Summary A safety valve is an important mechanical device that helps solve the problems associated with overpressure. There are three main types of safety valves: spring-loaded valves, pilot-operated valves, and those with balanced bellows. When the inlet pressure is higher than the maximum allowable working pressure, safety valves open up to avoid pressure build-up. This, in turn, avoids damages, fires, explosions, and injuries. The right choice of safety valve will largely depend on your unique needs. Some of the critical factors to consider are response pressure, operating temperature, seal and valve material, discharge capacity, and backpressure. You may also want to do thorough research before choosing a safety valve from a given manufacturer. For instance, check the manufacturer's reputation, warranty, industry experience, customer reviews, etc. Read Also: The Fishing Industry Needs More Sustainability Awareness 8 Ways you can Improve Safety in a Workplace 7 Things to Do After a Car Accident in Fort Worth For Your Protection and Safety LPG Safety Tips and Precautions for your Home

Electric Forklifts

Check Out The Advanced Specs Of Electric Forklifts

Electric forklifts are some of the most powerful industrial equipment around. They’re capable of carrying heavy loads quickly and efficiently, something that gas-powered forklifts can’t do. If you’re curious about how electric forklifts work and what makes them different from other types of warehouse equipment, then this guide will help. What Are Forklifts? Forklifts are, for all intents and purposes, miniature semi-trucks. They are used primarily in warehouses and distribution centers to move oversized pallets of goods. Although they come in various styles and shapes, they can be broken down into two main categories: manual and automated. Manual forklifts use an operator as their power source, while automated units rely on external power, such as electricity or propane. You may have heard them called scissor lifts or straddle carriers – but whatever you call them, they get goods from point A to point B. Advantages of Electric Forklifts An increasing number of warehouses are switching to electrically powered warehouse equipment to reduce their carbon footprint and make their warehouses more sustainable.Electricity is one of the most abundant sources for powering a forklift, meaning you can never be stranded on location without power.Even if a warehouse has no power, it can run a generator or solar panels during an emergency.Larger companies are investing in electric power because it is cheaper than diesel fuel and other types of fossil fuels. Types Of Electric Forklift Trucks When deciding which type of truck to purchase, there are a few options: gas-powered, battery-powered, and electric. Several options within each category can affect your decision-making process. This guide will focus solely on trucks with an electric power source. You should be aware of the two main types of plug-in hybrids and all-electric (e-trucks). Where Are They Used Due to the lack of noise and fossil fuels, battery-powered forklifts are a great option for indoor facilities with lots of foot traffic. They’re also eco-friendly, so it’s worth considering for your warehouse operations. Plus, some features to consider: an LED bar that indicates the charge left in the battery; many come with air conditioning units; and there’s little maintenance involved in running one. The upfront costs may be a bit more expensive than a gas-powered lift truck, but depending on your needs (and which aspects are most important), this could be worthwhile. Five Tips For Buying An Electric Forklift Truck Whether starting your first warehouse or expanding your current one, you’ll need a reliable partner. That’s where electric forklift trucks come in - they keep any warehouse running. Although finding the perfect truck for your needs can seem daunting, it’s surprisingly easy if you have some guidance. Here are five tips for buying an electric forklift truck to help guide you on your next purchase: 1) Find Your Need First - Before shopping for any product, you must know what you’re looking for. Knowing exactly how many tons and square feet of space you need will make things much easier when purchasing a new forklift truck.  2) Know Your Budget - You should always have an idea of how much money you want to spend before heading out into the market because this will ensure that you don’t get tempted by other products and end up overspending. 3) Research Brands - Not all brands are created equal, and depending on what type of work you do with your lift truck (or other equipment), this is especially true with forklifts. 4) Buy The Right Truck For The Job - Some people assume that just one truck does everything, but there are different types of electric forklift trucks designed for specific purposes. 5) Compare Options In Person - Buying an electric forklift truck online isn’t the best idea because there are so many features that you won’t know until you test them out. Make sure to go to a showroom or dealer near you to check each option side-by-side. Conclusion Whether you are in charge of warehousing for your company or you operate a warehouse for someone else, having an electric forklift at your disposal will benefit everyone. These devices are typically used in warehouses as they provide increased safety and productivity when transporting items around the facility.
