Immigrants Are Being Denied US Citizenship

One instance of an immigrant facing concerns with her U.S. citizenship even after doing everything by the book brings out the hypocrisy of the U.S. federal government. Maria Reimers is one such immigrant who has secured a green card to work and marry an American citizen.

These steps show that even as an immigrant, she has followed all legal policies employed by the U.S. It is in the town of Ephrata in Washington state that she and her husband operate a small storefront selling legalized cannabis. It was in 2017 that Reimers tried to get U.S. citizenship!

She was rejected because she lacked “good moral character” because of her business. Unfortunately, the store that they operate is part of the government as they are a state-regulated cannabis.

Cannabis has been made legal in Washington state, yet the Federal government of the U.S. still considers cannabis as illegal! This has led to a significant citizenship issue for immigrants. The U.S. federal government’s policy can jeopardize the citizenship of immigrants!

The advocate of the immigrant, Reimers, has informed that there is a possibility that she might be detained at the borders if she goes to El Salvador to visit her family. Even with her green card, serious consequences are available, especially because the federal law can impact immigrants.

It has been 20 years since the immigrant stayed in the U.S., yet she has to prove herself for U.S. citizenship, clearly impacting her lifestyle and development. After the legalization, people are looking for answers to the question of how to make cannabis gummies! And yet, people are suffering due to the policies.

The lawful permanent residency is suffering from lifetime bans along with denial of citizenship, leading to deportation! There are significant consequences to the policy of making cannabis legal, thus impacting immigrants!

Top 5 Ways to Avoid Canada Immigration Consultancy Frauds

Immigrating to a different country is usually an engaging and exhausting process, and you need to employ the services of an immigration company. As if the process itself is not vigorous enough, you also need to choose from the tens of immigration companies available. If you are intending to move to Canada, you should be particularly on the lookout for unscrupulous individuals who are out to steal from you in the name of helping you move into the country. Many people have lost money and wasted valuable time and resources to fake Canada immigration consultants. That’s why you need to take these measures to avoid these scams and have a seamless and worthwhile experience while immigrating to Canada. 1. Look for Licensing and ICCRC Membership: One of the leading ways to spot a scam immigration company is that they will not be licensed. Only companies that are registered and have received a license to offer immigration consultancy services are legitimate.  Avoid consultancy firms that promise to be legit but have no valid license as proof of their authenticity. Additionally, you may want to check that the company is a member of the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) and has a good record with the body. Firms that are not registered under this body or which have a bad record may end up letting you down in the end. 2. Stay Away from Sweet Deals: Most immigration fraudsters offer sweet deals that are meant to entice potential immigrants and encourage them to seek immigration services from their firms. For example, a company may promise faster processing of your immigration application, successful applications, and job offers with no interviews. All these promises are usually untrue and meant to scam you of your hard-earned cash. Only the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) offices have the ability to determine application processing times, including whether it will be approved or rejected. Remember, you won’t be getting a job without attending an interview. Therefore, if anyone promises you these things, they are scammers. 3. Don’t Click on Phishing Emails: Canada immigration consultancy fraudsters have for a long time used phishing to con unsuspecting immigrants. You open your email and find mail from a consultancy company offering immigration services. Before getting all excited that you have found an immigration company without breaking a sweat, think twice. Most legitimate companies will not send you mail unless you subscribed to their mailing list. Whoever is emailing you is probably a con, and you should desist from replying to that email or providing any of your personal or bank info. 4. Do Online Research: The Internet is a goldmine of information, and it can save you from falling into the traps of unscrupulous Canada immigration consultants. There are various sites that allow you to research and find out whether an immigration consultancy firm is legitimate. You can also get online reviews of individuals who have used the services of these firms. Steer clear of firms that have been labeled as illegitimate. What’s more, avoid those that have low star ratings (below 3 stars) as the chances are that previous clients have had bad experiences with them. If you are deciding to move to Canada, you need to be aware of some of the civil and criminal law systems that operate there. For example, a fraud under $5000 is considered to be a small offense and is termed as usually a civil case. On the other hand, if you are guilty of committing a fraud over the $5000 mark, then the same can be classified as a criminal offense. Make sure you get a complete list of all official and legal rules and regulations from your immigration agency before you step into the country. 5.Get Recommendations: One of the sure ways to avoid being scammed is by getting recommendations from close friends, friends of friends, or family. Do you know someone who immigrated to Canada? If so, they can hook you up with the Canada immigration consultant who helped to process their application. Doing this helps you to get first-hand information on how the company is, their customer service, and reliability. Additionally, you can also learn what is required during the application process. Final Thoughts: Fraudsters are out to con Canada immigrants by making promises such as faster processing of applications, cheap deals, and even free jobs. Save yourself from these scams by observing the highlighted measures. Beware of companies that ask for an upfront payment that is not indicated on the IRCC website. If you aren’t sure about the legitimacy of a firm, check online, ask your friends, and look for valid ICCRC membership. Taylor Swift’s “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” Becomes #1 On Billboard

Taylor Swift is back at the top of the charts with her album "1989 (Taylor's Version)," which has skyrocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, dated November 11. This accomplishment marks Swift's 13th No. 1 on the chart. The album made an impressive debut with 1.653 million equivalent album units earned in the United States during the week ending November 2, according to Luminate. This remarkable feat represents the largest week for any album, in terms of units earned, since Adele's "25" launched with 3.482 million units in the week ending November 25, 2015. A significant portion of "1989 (Taylor's Version)"'s first-week units, approximately 1.359 million, came from traditional album sales. This is Swift's highest sales week for any of her albums, surpassing her previous record set when the original "1989" album debuted with 1.287 million copies sold in the week ending November 2, 2014. In fact, the first-week sales of "1989 (Taylor's Version)" are the largest for any album since Adele's "25" was released. In total, since Luminate began tracking music sales electronically in 1991, the debut of "1989 (Taylor's Version)" stands as the sixth-largest sales week for any album. The top six biggest weeks belong to Adele's "25," *NSYNC's "No Strings Attached," *NSYNC's "Celebrity," Eminem's "The Marshall Mathers LP," Backstreet Boys' "Black & Blue," and now "1989 (Taylor's Version)." The success of "1989 (Taylor's Version)" was amplified by its availability in various collectible physical formats, including color vinyl variants, CD editions, and digital download options. In addition, Billboard mentioned that “All 13 of Swift’s full-length studio albums and re-recorded projects from 2008’s Fearless, her second studio album, through 2023’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) have debuted at No. 1.” This has solidified her record for the most No. 1s among women in the chart's history. She now ties with Drake for the third most No. 1 albums among all artists, with The Beatles holding the top spot with 19 No. 1s. Swift announced "1989 (Taylor's Version)" during her performance at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, as part of her "The Eras Tour" in August. Pre-order sales for the album began shortly thereafter via Swift's official webstore. In summary, Taylor Swift's triumphant return to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart with "1989 (Taylor's Version)" is a testament to her enduring popularity and the anticipation for her re-recorded albums.Additionally, SEVENTEEN makes a strong debut at No. 2 on the chart with "SEVENTEENTH Heaven: 11th Mini Album," marking their fourth top 10-charting effort. The rest of the top 10 includes familiar names like Drake, Bad Bunny, Morgan Wallen, Rod Wave, and another of Swift's albums, "Midnights." 6 Guiness World Record Holders to be Jealous Of

Growing up, most of us remember cracking open the latest Guinness Book of World Records we got at Christmas time and seeing who held the weirdest and most wonderful records that year. Everything from freakishly long fingernails to incredibly strong people, there's always a strange niche that has a record holder. But not all of them are totally wacky and weird, some of them are amazing and great enough to make you green with envy. 6 Guiness World Record Holders to be Jealous Of Without further ado, here are six of the greatest Guinness World Record holders whose achievements will make you very jealous. 1. The World's Oldest Person: Jeanne Calment from France has managed to live to the incredible age of 122 years and 164 days old. She was born back in 1875 and she lived through a lot of pivotal world events. She lived to see the Eiffel Tower be constructed, she sold coloring pencils to the Vincent Van Gogh, and she lived through both World Wars. She holds another Guinness World Record as the oldest person to appear in a motion picture, Vincent and Me, at 114 years old. She led a very active life well into her 100s despite reportedly having a terrible diet. She died in 1997. 2. Winner of a World Record Bet Amount: Jon Heywood, a British soldier from Cheshire, England, made headlines when he won an astonishing £13,213,838.68 from a single online bet. Heywood had just opened his Betway account and played with just 0.25p and within 25 minutes, he became a millionaire. His win went on to be certified by the Guinness World Records as the "largest jackpot pay-out in an online slot machine game". With the money, Jon decided he wanted to help his poorly father and pay for the best medical treatment possible. He also wanted to treat his family to a vacation with a cruise around the Mediterranean and buy himself a Bentley. He is still in disbelief about his mega-win, and to be honest, so are we! The Biggest Barbecue in the World: We all love a good barbecue with a few pals on a hot summery day out in our own, private backyard. But, imagine what it would be like at the world's biggest barbecue? That's right, Uraguay beat Argentina to become the hosts of the biggest barbecue in the whole world. Since Uraguay is a country with more cattle than people, there's no better place for this event to take place. For the event, cooks grilled a whopping 16.5 tonnes of raw meat over 14 hours. They also prepared 4,000kg of Russian salad to eat with the beef and plates were sold for just $5 per plate. Now that's an event we wish we could have been there for! IMAGE SOURCE: Pexels.com 4. Youngest Person to Climb Mount Everest: American schoolboy Jordan Romero was the youngest person to climb to the top of Mount Everest at just 13 years old. As he reached the top of the mountain, he called his mom and told her he was calling her from the top of the world. It took 7 days for Jordan to reach the 29,035 summits. It's not the only mountain he's climbed either: at 10 years old, he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro too. Two years after he climbed Everest, he became the youngest person in the world to complete the Seven Summits - climbing seven of the tallest mountains on each continent. At 15 years old, he's done more than most people do in a lifetime, and it's exciting to see what he'll achieve in the future. World's Richest Person: The title of the richest person in the world was once held by Microsoft CEO Bill Gates. For years, his wealth remained unbeatable - that is until Jeff Bezos came around. Jeff Bezos is the founder of Amazon and is now worth a whopping $112 billion. His wealth comes as no big surprise. Pretty much everyone you know, including yourself, has bought something from Amazon. What began as a small company running from his basement became a global conglomerate that is used by millions of people every single day. It's an inspiring story for anyone looking to launch their own business and shows that there are no bounds for how successful you may be one day. 6. Longest Laughter: It's a bit of an odd one but a sweet one nonetheless. An Ethiopian man named Belachew Girma has been given the title of world record holder for the longest time spent laughing. He laughed non-stop for three hours and six minutes to win the title for himself. Belachew is an amazing man who literally laughs in the face of an adversary. He has sadly lost two of his wives to HIV and seen his home and business destroyed by fires and floodings. He sees the power in laughter as it helps carry away stress and pain. So, as a result, he heads up a non-profit organization called the Laughter for All Association Ethiopia. What an amazing man! There are a lot of weird and whacky Guinness World Record holders out there, and they help make the world a little more interesting. These ones are more inspirational as they manage to achieve things most of us couldn't imagine. Will you become a Guinness World Record holder in the future?
