8 Fashion Tips Exclusively for Men

The dilemma of what to wear is not limited to women only. It has trapped men as well. The real problem with men is that there simply isn’t a choice on the market. It’s a challenge for them to bring the best out of whatever they have. Sometimes, that’s all they need, other times; it’s not enough. No matter how much we say that other’s opinions don’t count; they actually do. Imagine confronting your boss in an ill-sized dress and messy hair; you now have the answer. There’s no denial of the fact that even with the technological advancements, we still don’t get enough time for such stuff. With a few easy yet effective tips that have been tried, we have made it a little comfortable for you guys. Before getting to work, just give these ideas a thorough walk. 1. Groom yourself First things first. Brush your teeth, take a shower, either trim or shave the beard and wear a light scent or maybe a deodorant. “How hot was that bad breath,” said no one, ever. Know your hair type, and change the hairstyle, if you have kept the same for ages now. Take good care of your hygiene. If you have a beard and it is good for your look, then you should maintain it properly using beard oil for men. No deodorant or other cosmetic product for that matter can overshadow an unhygienic body. You must make a habit of visiting a salon frequently. 2. Spend more on less Everyone has heard ‘quality over quantity,’ a bazillion times in his entire life. Well, there’s nothing wrong with that statement. When looking for clothes, make sure to get yourself the best quality ones. They will be with you for a much longer period. Read the ABC pant review here and see if you need one of them in your wardrobe on not. 3. Simplicity always wins Generally, blue and white are a man’s best bet. To add to it, stripes and checks can serve the purpose very well. However, bold colors, wild stitching, and all those over the top patterns can hamper the entire idea. The Fabric of cloth must hide your undershirt or the chest hair. If you have a longer forearm, roll the sleeves up before putting the shirt on. This way, you will get a much better result. 4. Pocket Squares look wonderful A pocket square adds as much to the formal look of a suit as a tie does. It’s a small investment but has valuable results. With a pocket square, you can experiment as much as you want. There’s no need to match the colors with the blazer or tie. A contrasting combination, in this case, looks far better. 5. Get the Right Men’s Accessories When it comes to dressing, men can benefit a lot from using the right kind of accessories. A small bag, a nice watch, a decent scarf can make a world of difference in taking something that is good to the level of great. Most fashion experts state that pedro men bags are an understated item of luxury that can go excellently with different types of attires. These can be your professional workwear or a simple night around town. It lends that sophistication and elegance factor to a man. 6. Suspenders or Belts- Wear One Fashion does not come with rules, as most people think. But, there sure are some guidelines. What do you think suspenders and belts do? Well, they hold the trousers up. Neither do you need, nor do you want to wear both of them at the same time? Some people, however, commit this mistake. They end up looking like a rectangle. Even if you still want to try, there’s nothing that can stop you. 7. Button properly Shirts don’t count on, because they all are buttoned the same way. It is about blazers and jackets. For most people, it is quite easy to make an error at this place. Two-button blazers generally button at the top button, and the three-buttons one in the middle. Always button the jacket where it is supposed to be, and not just anywhere. 8. Please Tuck in your Dress Shirt It might sound as if your parents are behind the screen, but no, they are not there. Dress shirts are designed too long, so they don’t come out. If you prefer to keep the shirt untucked, wear the one with a casual cut instead. If you are wearing formal trousers, never make the mistake of keeping the shirt out. It just does not look any good on anyone. From Flint to Lasers – The Evolving Techniques of Hair Removal

I hate having to go through the painful waxing sessions for hair removal! There! I’ve expressed the sentiment that millions of women like me across the world feel every now and then when they look at themselves in the mirror after a shower. My significant other refuses to shave on weekends unless he has a formal event he has to go to. Watching him lounge around the house unconcerned about the two-day stubble, I’ve often wondered how social paradigms developed to the point where having a hairless face and skin became essential. I mean if nature didn’t intend us to have hair, we would have long eliminated the gene that gave us hair in the first place. Makes sense? So, here I was, complaining and mumbling under my breath as I went through my phone looking for the number of my salon. (If I want to look anywhere near presentable in a swimsuit, I would have to schedule an appointment.) Suddenly, it struck me. Who was this historical personality who invented hair removal anyway? I decided to get to the bottom of the issue. It was time to find out if hair removal is really an essential of fashion or plain, good old hygiene. So, I set about doing a bit of research into the issue. Hair Removal Has Been Around Since 30,000 BC (There go my hopes of ushering in a social revolution where hairy faces and bodies were completely acceptable.) As Livestrong says, people as far back as 30,000 BC used the sharp edge of flint to scrape off the hair from their scalps, faces, and bodies. At the time, it WAS a question of hygiene. No hair meant no lice, mites, and other infestations. I dug around a little more to find that everyone (including women) living in the warmer climates would shave off their scalp hair too. Then came a time in the Middle Ages when going hairless (bald?!) was the height of fashion. (I think I am quite happy I don’t live in those times.) The elite would remove all their hair (in the nether regions too) as a sign of quality. Think Romans and their statues and paintings of entirely hairless people. And, the court of Queen Elizabeth I where women removed their eyebrows and the hair on the front of their heads to show off high foreheads. (Phew!)  Hair Removal Techniques Haven’t Evolved All That Much In fact, removing hair in those times was a lot more painful. My research showed that people mainly used tweezing to get rid of the fuzz. They’d use seashells as tweezers or pumice stones and metal blades to scrape hair. Egyptian women are credited with the art of threading. They were the first to use twisted strands to pluck hair in 60 BC. Apparently, they also invented sugaring which is very much like modern-day waxing. And, yes, hair removal creams were also used. Only, women used a solution of quicklime and arsenic to burn off the unwanted hair. (It’s scary to think about what that did to their skins.) Getting Back to the 21st Century Having grudgingly conceded that I would have to get that waxing session, after all, the next step was to explore my options. I mean, doesn’t science and technology have an answer to the problem of unwanted fuzz? (and, a painless one, too!) Look around and you’ll find that there IS one solution that the ancients didn’t have. It’s called removing hair with the help of lasers. But, the question still remains. Does laser hair removal hurt more than waxing? (Remember? We’re still stuck on the issue of pain here!) So, It’s Back to the Internet! I decided that it’s time to look for a more permanent solution (Given that I’m going to have to do this all through my life!). And, if lasers promised clean skin for good, it was worth a shot. Here’s everything I found out about the procedure. Some of the information is from the expert aestheticians who can perform the treatment on you and some other comes from hapless people like me. (If you’re looking for some authoritative details, check out the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory website.) Medscape says that laser hair removal came to be first used in the year 1998 when some guys, Dierickx, and associates first released a paper after conducting 2-year research on the technique. Since then, you can find a whole range of equipment that can help you with unwanted hair. Lasering is a solution that’s perfect for women with darker-colored hair. The deeper pigmentation seems to absorb the heat and directs it to the root. The heat effectively burns the root so that it cannot go back. In a fraction of a second! You’ll probably need about 6 to 8 sessions spaced at intervals of about 6 weeks each. Weigh that against a lifetime of waxing sessions and the cost in terms of dollars (and, the pain!) and you’ll find that lasering is much more economical. You won’t have to worry about ingrown hair with layering. The levels of pain depend on your tolerance and the thickness of the hair. To some extent, the area under treatment is also a factor. So, if you’re working the more delicate sections, it could hurt a little more. Many users have talked about feeling a rubber band twanging against the skin. You can prepare for the session by taking painkillers in advance and using topical numbing creams. Applying ice afterward also helps. Avoid caffeine on the day of the procedure and time it far out from your appointment with Aunt Flo. You’ll save on some of the sensitivity. You can expect that the treated area will look pink for a few days and since the hair will be falling out, you may have to exfoliate thoroughly. Some women have also talked about noticing a singed hair odor. Laser treatments can be of two different wavelengths and doctors choose the appropriate one according to the color and texture of your hair and skin. As you go through the sessions, your aestheticians may work out a combination for you. Avoid trimming the hair before your session for a week or so and the treatment will be much more effective. Lasering doesn’t take a lot of time. You can get the session done during your lunch break. Lasering is great for both and women. You’ll be wearing protective eyeglasses all through the session so you needn’t worry about any potential harmful effects. There you go - the results of my digging around for the perfect solution for unwanted fuzz. Come to think of it, humans have come quite a long way in their quest for the perfect hair removal solution. From flint and cuts and nicks to the permanent option of lasers! (Who knows, over the next few hundred centuries, we might just mutate into humans without the need for lasers too. Um, they aren’t entirely painless, you know!)  To know more: 6 Stunning Long Hairstyles For Oval Faces

Feminist Jewelry

A Beginner’s Guide To Feminist Jewelry In 2021 By Leading Experts

When it comes to understanding feminism, we should start by understanding the history behind it all. You see not quite long ago, women even in advanced western developed and democratic countries were denied voting rights. In the UK, women could not initiate divorce proceedings. If they tried to argue for their rights as human beings, they would get beaten up or sexually exploited to keep their mouth shut. While cases of exploitation still abound, the fight led by feminism has led to developments in inequality between men and women. In this article, we look at one interesting topic of discussion that has come up in recent times- Feminist Jewelry. We speak to leading experts from Vogue to the Huff Post to try and understand what feminist jewelry is all about. Before we go to the jewelry bit, let us first try to look at the concept of Feminism itself. We will then proceed to understand the relationship between feminism and jewelry. Feminism: Meaning and Definition Many people and groups misinterpret feminism as the domination of women over men. This is a gross misinterpretation. In reality, feminism stands for the fight to guarantee equal rights for both men and women in different societal roles. These societal roles are both in the real of personal as well as the professional domain. Feminism then in the modern world is all about ‘freedom’. The freedom to take any partner with or without marriage, the freedom to practice or not practice a particular profession, and the freedom to have or not have kids. While you might read the above and think that this is all but natural, women have to struggle for countless decades and even centuries to reach where they were. While Sheryl Sandberg, Angela Merkel, or Indra Nooyi are leading the biggest companies and nations, their path was laid down by their ancestors decades ago. Feminism and Jewelry: The Connection between the two Again, to understand the modern connection and relationship between feminism and jewelry, we have to take help from history. In the ancient period, chastity, barrenness, simplicity, and virginity were concepts associated with good character women. Jewelry was seen as something that courtesans and lose women would flaunt. This was because wearing jewelry could draw the attention of the male gaze to the neck, wrist, and face of the woman. This was something that was considered to being overtly sexual. Good character women were supposedly prohibited from wearing jewelry for the fear of attracting the sexual male gaze. However, women that owned jewelry would fault it as a symbol of their economic prosperity and value. They took great pride in showcasing heavy diamonds and considering them to be status symbols that showed their freedom and strength. The earliest markers of feminism were sown during the period. This is why jewelry has always been intrinsically tied to the struggle and movement of feminism historically. Almost all historical traditions have showcased jewelry wearing women as lose and of questionable character. List of 5 Important Things Feminist Jewelry helps Women with In this section, we look at five important markers that have come to be associated with feminist jewelry in 2021. 1. The Freedom of Expression- For women, jewelry is a medium of expression. Just like your normal clothes or your watch can say a lot about who you are, jewelry too can have the same effect. This is why you see terms like ‘Boss Lady’, ‘Fearless’, ‘Queen’, ‘Slay’, and others being used in feminist jewelry. For women, this becomes a tool for expressing who they are and what they feel. 2. Sign of Financial Independence- The obvious that comes with owning and flaunting expensive jewelry is that ‘I can afford it.’ This means that financial freedom and independence are important in feminism. The struggle to earn livelihoods and get equal pay for equal work is one of the foundations of the feminist movement. Somebody independent has a strong personality in the world. 3. Drives home the point- I am a Woman- While wearing jewelry has picked up in men, the same is nowhere close to the use by women. Women understand jewelry. They equate jewelry as being something of a performance. The weight it has on the body, the sound it makes, is all something that women love. The fight for feminism is entrenched in the fact that it is centered around women. 4. A Conversation Starter in more ways than one- Every single time a woman does something different and away from the norm, someone or the other will try to point it out. Wearing feminist jewelry that is statement pieces can become a great conversation started to educate someone on what feminism is all about. Almost all of us have some or the other wrong notions about feminism. 5. Support to Feminist Artists and Companies- There are a very definite set of individuals and companies that create feminist jewelry. Like the movement, they have dared to walk against the tide of things. By buying such statement pieces from these individual artists and companies, the struggle around espousing feminism to the world continues. Supporting one another is the key to strengthening the movement. The Bottom Line: Women are crossing every male-dominated bastion and performing at the highest levels. Whether it is the sciences, technology, or the corporate world, they are proving their worth in the best possible fashion.
