YouTube Ends Premium Lite Plans After 2 Year Trial Period! Get Your Deets

In a recent development, YouTube has decided to discontinue its Premium Lite subscription plan, which had been on a two-year trial run. Subscribers to this lower-cost ad-free video viewing option will no longer have access to it after October 25th, 2023.

Launched at €6.99 per month back in 2021, YouTube’s Premium Lite was initially available in select European countries, including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden. The plan offered an ad-free viewing experience across all of YouTube’s apps and formats. However, it did not include additional Premium features such as offline downloads, background playback, or access to YouTube Music.

For existing Premium Lite subscribers, this discontinuation leaves them with two choices: return to watching YouTube with ads or upgrade to the pricier YouTube Premium, which includes YouTube Music. YouTube is offering Lite subscribers a one-month free trial of YouTube Premium, even if they’ve had a trial before.

To take advantage of this offer, subscribers will need to either cancel their Lite subscription or wait for it to be canceled automatically. It’s worth noting that YouTube had previously increased the prices of its Premium and Music subscriptions in the United States earlier this year. Which is why a number of people canceled their YouTube premium membership.

In an email to its users, YouTube stated, “We’re writing to let you know that after 25 October 2023, we will no longer be offering your version of Premium Lite. While we understand that this may be disappointing news, we continue to work on different versions of Premium Lite as we incorporate feedback from our users, creators, and partners.”

The discontinuation of Premium Lite has prompted disappointment among subscribers. Premium Lite might not have been widely known outside the select European regions where it was available, but for those who appreciated ad-free viewing without the added features of YouTube Premium, it filled a niche that’s now left wanting.YouTube’s decision to end Premium Lite leaves subscribers with important decisions to make regarding their viewing experience, and the move has sparked conversations about the evolving landscape of YouTube subscriptions.

Tyler "Ninja" and Herschel "Dr DisRespect" have had a clash on social media over multi-streaming. Dr DisRespect appeared to be insulting those who multi-stream on different platforms in a tweet. For those who don't know, Tyler is one of the most popular creators who actively simulcast on various websites like Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter. Dr DisRespect is known for his boisterous antics on the stream, and his social media posts reflect his on-stream personality. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, he seemed to be calling out creators who simulcast on multiple platforms, suggesting that those who multi-stream do it because they are not good enough for one platform. "If you have to multi stream, that’s because you’re not good enough for one platform,” tweeted Dr DisRespect on X. This happened to have worked, and Tyler came up with a reply, wasting no time. It was clear to the community that Dr DisRespect's post was aimed at Ninja. SypherPK, another streamer who multi-streams, tried to spark a playful exchange between the two creators by tagging Ninja in a reply. Ninja was one of the leading creators who openly multi-streamed. He ended his partnership with Twitch in September last year to stream on other platforms such as YouTube and Kick. Additionally, the renowned Fortnite star was one of the most vocal critics of Twitch when they introduced policies that prevented streamers from simulcasting. After the Twitch CEO's announcement at TwitchCon that the multi-streaming policy would be reversed, Tyler returned to his old platform as a partner. Given his public support for multi-streaming in recent months, it was inevitable that Dr DisRespect's comments would provoke a response. Riverhead Big Lots Is Closing Route 58 Store

The front entrance to Route 58 retail store now has signs announcing "STORE CLOSING", "NOTHING HELD BACK", and "ENTIRE STORE UP TO 20%". There were even two designated storekeepers standing on the sidewalk of Route 58 holding the store closing sign this morning. Their company spokesperson was not immediately available for comment. Representatives of the real estate agency in Queens that advertised the other two smaller rents in Staples Plaza (where Big Lots is situated) also weren't reachable for comment. The Big Lots was originally occupied by a permanent home store. The plaza was opened in the 1980s. Later on the space got occupied by Ultimate Fitness East. They moved out in the summer of 2013. In that fall, a store of Big Lots launched there. Big Lots is a publicly traded organization operating 1,422 stores in 48 states all across the U.S. The company's investor relations website reveals. The big box retailer is expected to showcase its third-quarter results to all its investors on Thursday.
