inpatient rehabilitation facility

During an inpatient rehab program, a substance abuse individual lives at the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility. The inpatient treatments are best suited for individuals who require extensive care as they are going through with serious addictions of alcohol or drugs. An effective Inpatient program also works well to treat other conditions related to mental health. Understandably, staying at the rehab facility can be a bit difficult for addictive individuals, but it is quite beneficial to control daily life triggers or cravings for substance use. Thus, living in a healthy environment can ensure speedy and guaranteed recovery.

Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility:

A licensed inpatient treatment center offers 24/7 intensive support and care. The expert staff is trained enough to take good care of substance abuse patients. An inpatient rehab program consists of three stages: detox, reflection, and growth. This program is operational to motivate patients to come back to their normal life and regain a positive approach. They enjoy drug-free and alcohol-free lifestyles after the completion of their treatment sessions.

These sessions can be short-term and long-term, depending on a patient’s condition. Typically, an addictive person stays at residential facilities from 6-12 months. Conversely, for a short-term facility, the duration is about 3-6 weeks.

Benefits of Inpatient Rehab Programs:

The inpatient rehab programs have to offer several life-changing benefits to patients for overcoming their addiction problems. These programs are well-structured to provide an efficient healing environment for a successful recovery. A rehab program provides an individualized treatment that helps a patient in identifying underlying issues that caused addiction. It attempts to build a productive, healthy, and happy lifestyle for a patient. The benefits include:

  • Both the long-term and short-term rehab sessions are precisely planned to help patients with detoxification and prepare them for a new life after the completion of treatments.
  • The inpatient rehabilitation facility offers 24/7 care and support.
  • The inpatient residential rehabs provide non-hospital settings. So, the patients don’t feel alone or homesick. They get to work on overcoming their addiction problems in the most feasible and convenient manner.
  • The treatments are relatively focused and structured to deliver the right support in dealing with all kinds of substance abuse disorders.
  • The treatments cater to all aspects of addiction that might include factors like a relationship, lifestyle, personal history, financial situation, etc.
  • The Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility includes focused medical attention and safe housing to cater to the needs of patients who are troubling with severe mental health disorders.

Although an Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility is expensive when compared to affordable outpatient rehab, it delivers a higher success rate. It means a healthy life is guaranteed even after the treatment. During this program, an addictive person doesn’t have to face distractions of everyday life. The program is designed for people with severe addiction issues, so the addictive individuals have to stay in the facilities for as long as required. When deciding on a rehab program for yourself or someone you love, you need to remember that treatment can be highly challenging and costly. But, it’s always said that the cost of treatment is lower than the cost of addiction.

Educating A Girl Can Change The World

Educating A Girl Can Change The World: What Leaders Are Saying

You must have heard of names like Malala Yousafzai, Greta Thunberg, and Emma Gonzalez. All of them have strived hard to address issues surrounding the social, economic, environmental, and political world. In recent years, everyone from governments to international organizations has stated how important it is to educate the girl child. Women in positions of importance have demonstrated exemplary levels of skill and expertise. Nancy Etz, a leading name in promoting scholarships for women in educational institutions, has been at the forefront of the issue. In this resource article, we look at how educating a girl can help change the world for the better. Educating A Girl Is Important In Developing Countries Of The World: Population control is an area that is often discussed without much result. Studies have shown that educating women in society helps in increasing the marriageable age and leads to the creation of smaller families. Countries in the Asian and African continents that are struggling when it comes to resources can benefit deeply from measures of population control. This positively affects the health of both the woman and the child and leads to the nation’s economic prosperity. Education paves the way to understanding exploitation and leads to overall emotional development. This can help bring down rates of crime against women and help improve society for the better. Education leads to issues of gender equality being discussed in the public domain. Women’s Education Can Help Improve The Economic Condition And Break The Poverty Cycle: Many data and statistics put out by the UN state that an average year of education helps increase the wage-earning potential of women by over 20%. As compared to men, women who are earning invest more in their households and the upbringing of their children. This also ensures that the economic and financial pressures that are common in households are divided equally. This helps elevate the standard of living, investing in savings and ensuring access to better healthcare facilities. Children born in families with working mothers are likely to benefit from the twin-earning potential of their parents. They can be given a better life, access to high-quality education, and grow up with a family with better values and gender equality. At the end of the day, earning women can play a major role in breaking the cycle of poverty in developing and underdeveloped nations of the world. Educating A Girl Can Contribute To The Overall Economic Prosperity Of A Country: Educated women not only contribute towards their families but also add to the wealth of a nation. Studies show how nations with more working women have a healthier GDP as compared to nations that do not. In simple words, the more women earn, the more they are likely to reinvest their earnings into the nation. This means they will buy things, pay taxes, and invest in saving schemes. All this means that the earning potential of a nation increases. This can lead to the government of the nation spending more on social services, transportation, healthcare, and education. It all makes the nation enjoy a superior position as compared to others in the world of international diplomacy. It also throws up issues like Climate Change, Violence, and Gender Equality into the discussions surrounding a nation. With more active participation from women, these issues become a part of mainstream discourse, and steps can be taken to address them. You Can't Ignore What They Are Saying! While many surveys and research are suggesting the importance of girls’ education, it’s not just them who are loud. Many famous celebrities and global faces have raised their voices in support of educating women. Here are a few examples – There is no greater pillar of stability than a strong, free, and educated woman. – Angelina Jolie If we are going to see real development in the world, then our best investment is WOMEN! – Desmond Tutu As a tribute to the legions of women who navigated the path of fighting for justice before us, we ought to imprint in the supreme law of the land firm principles upholding the rights of women. –Nelson Mandela Young women who want an education will not be stopped. –-Freida Pinto You know, we’re in a sports center. Imagine if you have a team and you don’t let half of the team play. That’s stupid. That makes no sense. And the evidence shows that communities that give their daughters the same opportunities as their sons, they are more peaceful, they are more prosperous, they develop faster, they are more likely to succeed. – Barack Obama Global Initiatives For Women's Education Not just the leaders; it’s a collective global movement, and many initiatives taken at national and global levels are shaping the world of women-education. Here are some worth mentioning initiatives to talk about – Beti Bachao Beti Padhao This is one of the programs in India allowing girls to stop dropping out of school. It’s also for preventing underage marriage of Indian girls. UNICEF This is an international organization working on different campaigns to raise awareness around women's education in India. They are making sure that every girl has the opportunity to learn and go to school. International Day of Girl Child Here’s another awareness campaign that teaches women about their right to education. It aims to make girls aware of their rights and inspires them to be educated. Right to Education Initiative This initiative is to recognize and spread the word about everyone’s equal rights to get an education. The Final Word: No matter where you look, women are rising to positions of prominence. From the New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Arden to corporate honchos like Sheryl Sandberg, women are redefining the world’s political, economic, social, and environmental. Can educating a girl child change the world for the better? A start has been made in the right direction. According to Nancy Etz, a lot still needs to be done and the initiative needs to be taken by parents, partners, and governments the world over. Have You Heard of Upcoding? It’s a Big Part of Medical Fraud

What does the term “medical fraud” conjure up in your mind? Do you picture a questionable-looking character going door to door, soliciting personal information of Medicare beneficiaries? Maybe you see a fake doctor administering tests to unsuspecting patients in a dingy medical facility. Sure, these exaggerated caricatures aren’t out of the realm of possibility, but it’s often the case that fraud in the healthcare industry is much subtler, to the point that it can occur to almost anyone without their knowledge. It even happens in the sleekest looking medical facilities, and it can be perpetrated by professionals that one would seldom suspect of being a fraudster. One of the most “subtle” and common forms of medical fraud has a name that belies its simplicity. It’s called upcoding, and while that might sound like a boring, complicated system, it’s quite easy for a medical professional to do. Upcoding is the practice of billing for services other than those provided. It some cases, it’s essentially just overbilling, and it’s one of the easiest ways for a provider to earn a little extra money without risking being noticed by the authorities or by patients. Before we look at just how prevalent this practice is, it’s important to understand that virtually every medical service has a code to which it is associated. These codes are very specific, and a provider lists the code of the service they provided their patient either to the patient themselves or to the insurance company that will pay for the service. When a doctor is guilty of upcoding, it means that they provided a different code than the one representing the service that was provided. While some forms of upcoding are blatant, and could easily be spotted by someone who simply took the time to notice, others are so slight that they would go undetected unless someone was paying close attention. For example:  You see your doctor for a checkup. You schedule your appointment, sit patiently in the waiting room, see your doctor for about 10 minutes, pay your co-pay and you go home. Meanwhile, your doctor has billed you for pretty much exactly what transpired during your visit, with one major exception. Instead of billing you for the 10 minutes he spent with you, he bills you for a much longer period of time. You likely never looked at your bill, and it would be difficult for an insurance provider to say that he didn’t spend that extra 20 minutes in your presence. These face-to-face interactions are some of the easiest for a doctor’s office to “fudge” the numbers ever so slightly in a way that is difficult for anyone to dispute. When time or, more specifically, face-to-face interactions are the services being billed for, it leaves a much larger margin for error or, in this case, for fraud. In addition to face-to-face time, upcoding can also occur when services billed are simply inflated versions of the service provided, whether that be a test or a treatment of a patient. In these cases, even some of the most medically savvy or attention-detailed patients might not catch the fact that they paid for something that doesn’t reflect what they received. Upcoding is so common, in part, because it is so easy to do without getting caught. Investigators are always on the lookout for upcoding as one of the first signs of a fraudulent medical provider. For the aforementioned reasons, it’s not always easy to discover upcoding without the cooperation of someone who is familiar with the services and billing practices of a facility. This is one of the reasons that whistle blowers are so important to the process, and it’s also one of the reasons that whistle blowers are often employees of the company or facility that has committed fraud. And that’s the simple story of one the grossest and most widespread forms of medical fraud in the United States. While we don’t know exactly how much money is taken from programs like Medicare because of upcoding, investigators suspect that it is very significant and it is common. So, pay attention the next time you look at your medical bill. The chances are good that your facility was completely justified in the amount that you were charged, but there is also a slight chance that there is something there that is just a little off - and that slight difference might be part of a larger system that defrauds patients and costs taxpayers vast sums of money. Prefer Patient-Centered Care For Older Adults

6 Reasons To Prefer Patient-Centered Care For Older Adults

When a person grows old, he/she becomes dependant on other people. Sadly, isolation can bring drastic effects on an aged patient’s wellbeing as he/she’s more susceptible to develop negative consequences. That’s why experts often pursue senior companionship programs for older people. It’s an unfortunate fact that many hospitals worldwide still do not follow a person-centric approach. This innovative model focuses on prioritizing a person’s values, desires, and preferences in making healthcare decisions. Some elements that furnish an effective patient-centric plan involve focusing on physical and emotional wellbeing and having a family member present in the care setting. This approach also concentrates on providing accessible, cooperative, and collaborative facilities to the aged patients while allowing them to make informed decisions. The elderly population in the United States is growing rapidly. It’s expected to exceed from 17% to approximately 20% by 2050. It is worth mentioning that, like every other population, senior citizens in America are also more vulnerable to isolation. These factors contribute to different challenges associated with the mental and physical wellbeing of old people. In this article, we’ll provide an extensive explanation of why aged patients must receive patient-centered care for better results. Some of its benefits include: 1. Job satisfaction: Satisfied doctors are more likely to treat their patients productively. It’s been observed that patient-centered care even motivates physicians to become more efficient at their jobs. Many medical practitioners, especially nurses, take a step ahead by enrolling in various MSN to DNP nursing education programs for excellence in their careers. This extra qualification enables healthcare professionals to focus on the strategies that can help them attain the best outcomes for aged patients. Hence, patient-centric care empowers the staff, which indirectly affects the mental/physical health of the old population. 2. Healthy environment: Hospitals implement a patient-centered model to incorporate the patient-first approach. This leads to the creation of a supportive environment where patients are provided individualized attention and personalized healthcare. This environment contributes to the patient’s emotional wellbeing. This model further streamlines the workflow, thereby enhancing the organization’s overall efficiency. Patient-centric care ensures that the staff eliminates every inefficiency and capably delivers the facilities your patients need. 3. Patient engagement: The ancient residents feel valued and respected when hospitals implement a patient-centric model. Focusing on their needs and abilities, patient-centered care enables patients to participate in decisions related to their healthcare plans actively. With a quality-based patient experience, hospitals can drive greater patient engagement. When you deliver a personalized experience to the patient community, they communicate efficiently with the medical staff. This communication leads to their well-being. When your patients feel satisfied with the healthcare they receive, it increases their life expectancy. Since the individualized care makes them feel important again, patients believe that they’re leading a purposeful life instead of living a pathetic, meaningless existence. 4. Patient profile: The patient-centric model allows the creation of a holistic patient profile for better healthcare facilities. This approach enables the medical staff to collect the patient’s information for better understanding. Now, whenever a patient engages with a medical expert, he/she will access the patient’s medical records. This practice enables doctors to understand the patient’s unique touchpoints – risk factors and medical records – to provide the right medicinal solutions. 5. Mental health: The elderly often feel helpless and secluded from their surroundings. This sense of isolation isn’t healthy at all! Boredom affects the mental health of elderly patients. However, patient-centered care allows them to engage in several activities. These actions ward off depression and cure their sense of solitude. Some of these riveting activities involve mundane tasks such as: Painting Gardening Listening to music etc. A study published by Pew Research last year showed that one-fourth of US adults aged 60+ are living alone. This means more and more adults are likely to face mental health issues, which has increased the need for quality health care in older adults. 6. Good reputation: This approach improves patients’ satisfaction since the patient-centered service aligns with the patients’ healthcare expectations. The Beryl Institute found that over 70% of patients would share their good or negative experiences at a healthcare institute, making satisfaction important for your reputation. This practice also improves your organization’s public perception. Since we live in a world where online reviews are of uttermost value, it may affect a hospital’s reputation if patients aren’t happy with the health outcomes. Patients who feel that they’re properly taken care of by the medical staff enable the organization to maintain its reputation and remain in patient’s good books. Conclusion: Patient-centered care helps them curb loneliness and escape isolation. This approach improves the healthcare outcomes in any country for the aged population. In the end, several researchers have demonstrated that patient-centered care has better results than traditional medical maneuvers for the elderly. Hospitals that implemented a patient-centered approach have reported better health outcomes since patients recover faster and don’t frequently visit ER.
