Choose the Right Shoelaces

The Inconvenience caused by misplacing a shoelace or having a broken one is unimaginable. It is always a distant reality that happened to most people and the burden of finding a new one is also unexplainable.  A myriad of questions goes through your head that moment when it happens. I loved those, am I ever going to find the same type? What is the guarantee of quality where do I shop for them? Is it okay if I change my shoelaces? Mostly these questions go unanswered.

The bottom line is that shoestrings are a very integral part of fashion and can be used to define personality. It is therefore imperative to get the right knowledge about this seemingly mundane but complex task. The dichotomy that they are ubiquitous and hard to choose is a headbanger for most people. Shoelaces come in various styles, materials, colors, and length, this makes it very tough to make the right choice on shoelaces.

1. The material used

Shoelaces are made of different materials. The raw materials used in manufacturing shoelaces vary depending on the kind of lace that is under construction. Typical fibers that are used for laces in the modern market include textured polyester, cotton, nylon, polypropylene and spun polyester. The aglet which is the hard-plastic end on the shoelace that pushes via the eyelet of the shoe, is manufactured from metal or transparent plastic. The most common variations that are used in making these aglets are brass and copper. Some of them are designed with unique characters to spruce up the experience. Acetone is used in the process of securing the aglet to the braided lace.

2. Try a variety

Shoelaces might seem simplistic and trivial to some people, but they are a very well differentiated product.  From traditional materials to exotic and synthetic materials and spanning every color of the spectrum the choices are extensive. One can opt for luminous and funky colors for outdoor shoes to reserved and chilled colors for the office. The standard colors are available. Shoelace colors are only limited by the size of stock your retailer has. Colorful, decorative shoelaces can make a fun fashion statement for people of all ages. Designs and patterns on shoelaces vary from retailer to retailer and can include simple designs like colorful, geometric patterns or elaborate, licensed character designs like Superheroes and cars on your no tie shoelaces for kids.

3. Length

Choosing the appropriate length is also as important as picking the right one. Long shoelaces may be inconvenient and drag on the floor accumulating dirt and presenting a tripping hazard. In the same vein choose them very short, and you’ll have a hard time fixing them. This means that temperance and discernment are very crucial when making these choices. A little preparation and estimation shall come in handy when selecting a new shoestring. The easiest way to do it is to compare the old string vis a vis the new one and see which one is the best fit. Some sellers have charts upon which you can reference the lengths with different styles of lacing.

4. The no tie laces

With the advancement of technology, laces have been invented to remove the hassle out of lacing shoes up.  It is no longer a necessity that they have to be tied and also the tradition that the laces of a shoe cannot be replaced faded away. Nowadays lock laces have become famous for people who like the convenience of a slip-on shoe on lace-up shoes. It is a quirky solution but the trend is catching on, especially the no tie shoelaces for kids, and soon they may become the next big thing

5. Match your style

Shoelaces are an excellent way of personalizing your shoes, more so if you purchase laces in varying patterns and colors. One of the easiest ways to change the look and feel of your shoes is to alter your shoelaces simply. The advantages are simple: it’s quick, easy, inexpensive and reversible. Every dress shoe has a specific type of lace it was made for. For Formal dress shoes such as oxfords, it is crucial to have waxed cotton strings because cheap unwaxed one will ruin the look of the shoes and they are also easier to polish.

6. Thickness

It is also essential to get the right thickness and make sure it covers all rows of eyelets. The simplest trick of the book is that the thinner the laces, the better quality it is. Wider flat shoelaces are a bolder look in comparison with round laces. Laces are a fundamental stylistic tool and stand for so much when worn correctly. Their make the difference between stylistic and distinguished from a wannabe.

7. Experiment with laces

Probably, shoelaces are the most unrecognized accessories. It has been recognized that a laced shoe offers the best fit over slip-on or Velcro shoes. They ease activities like walking jogging and walking. Laced shoes are adaptive to various structures of the feet and can be adjusted to fit any foot structure too. They have withstood the test of time, and nothing out there can provide the versatility associated with them. They are not only accentuating style, but they also are functional. A shoelace is a very integral part of modern fashion, and we have seen various designs and styles come out. They are affixed to shoes to provide a snug fit to prevent extreme exertion from making the shoe come off. Most shoemakers will advise on the best way to tie your shoes for optimum comfort.

Depending on how you stride and position your footsteps, shoelace tying focuses on offering the most comfortable experience when putting it on. In summation, the consideration to choose a pair of laces has to be thought out on end. The type of shoes, the occasion, nature of the activity and the foot structure will have an immense impact on the kind of lace you choose. A laid-back approach for formal shoes and bold and funky approach for casual shoes. For specific activities as the military or hiking the chose is to be made on considerations of cost, durability, and regulation.

8 Tips to match your watches with your outfit

Purchasing a watch cannot be considered an easy thing to do. That’s because you will need to pay attention to many different factors when you are spending your money to get a watch. No matter what option you move forward with, you need to make sure that it fits perfectly well into your outfit. Otherwise, you will not even feel like wearing the watch when you go out. There are some important and useful tips, which you need to keep in mind while you are trying to match the watch you wear along with your outfit. Here is a list of 8 such effective tips out of them. 1. Understand the different types of watches First of all, you need to spend your efforts on finding the best types of watches that are available for purchase in the market. When you deep dive and take a look at the watches, you will realize that there is a possibility to divide them into multiple categories. Dress watches, diver’s watches, sports or Chrono watches and flyers or pilot watches are to name a few. When you are aware of these different types of watches, you will find it an easy task to select the perfect watch, which matches your outfit. In other words, you will be able to make an informed decision at the time of purchasing a watch. 2. Match the watch according to the formality of the outfit As the second thing, you need to match the watch you wear according to the formality of your outfit. For example, if you are in a formal outfit, an analog watch, having the hour and minute hands would be in a position to complement your outfit. But when you are in a sporty outfit, you are more encouraged to go ahead and purchase a digital watch. Likewise, when you wear a dress, you need to think about getting your hands on the best dress watches available. 3. Leather matches with leather If you are wearing a leather belt and leather shoes, it is better to use a watch that comes along with a leather belt as well. You need to be concerned about the color as well. If your shoes and belt are in black color, you need to make sure that you are wearing a watch that has a black colored leather belt. Black color can also match with any other color. But you need to be careful when you are wearing a leather belt in brown color. Some of the watches come along with interchangeable bands and getting such a watch would help you in this kind of situation. 4. Metal matches with metal Just like leather can complement leather, metal has got the ability to complement metal. If you are wearing a bracelet in the same hand that you use to wear the watch, you can think about wearing a watch that comes with a metal frame. The shape of the metal frame can be polygonal, rounded or square. Likewise, the finishing of the leather case can be shiny, matte, inlaid with crystals or patterned. 5. When to wear heirloom watches The heirloom watches have received a lot of attention in the recent past, especially due to the ability that they have in order to represent legacy. People usually tend to wear these watches to bring in good luck. However, these watches cannot be subjected to the rules of matching with outfits. Therefore, you need to think about using them as conversation pieces. You shouldn’t wear it with any of the outfits and you will not be able to find any trends in wearing these watches. 6. In doubt? Then match with your shoes If you don’t have a clear understanding of how to match the watch with your outfit, you will get confused. In such a situation, the best step available for you to go ahead would be to match the watch along with your shoe. When it comes to fashion, black color is considered as dressier. However, some people tend to wear brown colored shoes. When you are switching in between black and brown colored shoes, you will wonder with what color you need to get the watch straps to complement your outfit. That’s where you are encouraged to get a watch with interchangeable straps. Or else, you can think about purchasing two separate watches, where you can use one for black colored shoes and the other for brown colored shoes. 7. Watches for a business dress If you are in a business outfit. You need to think about wearing a classic and a simply styled watch. In fact, you are encouraged to go ahead with a silver or a gold-colored watch. The watch should be equipped with a thin dial and it shouldn’t be linked with any complications at all. It is also possible for you to match a classic dress watch perfectly well along with a dark conservative suit. Most importantly, you need to make sure that you are not pairing your business outfit with a dive watch. 8. Watches for casual outfits The formal watches, which come along with leather straps will not blend perfectly well with the casual outfits. Therefore, you should look for an alternative option. That’s where the sporty watches come into play. Even the dive watches can contribute a lot to the casual outfit that you wear. When you are using a smartwatch, you will find it as an easy task to switch in between the casual outfits and professional outfits. That’s because you just need to change the strap of the watch according to the outfit. You are encouraged to look for such innovative options when you purchase watches to overcome hassle and frustration in the long run. From Flint to Lasers – The Evolving Techniques of Hair Removal

I hate having to go through the painful waxing sessions for hair removal! There! I’ve expressed the sentiment that millions of women like me across the world feel every now and then when they look at themselves in the mirror after a shower. My significant other refuses to shave on weekends unless he has a formal event he has to go to. Watching him lounge around the house unconcerned about the two-day stubble, I’ve often wondered how social paradigms developed to the point where having a hairless face and skin became essential. I mean if nature didn’t intend us to have hair, we would have long eliminated the gene that gave us hair in the first place. Makes sense? So, here I was, complaining and mumbling under my breath as I went through my phone looking for the number of my salon. (If I want to look anywhere near presentable in a swimsuit, I would have to schedule an appointment.) Suddenly, it struck me. Who was this historical personality who invented hair removal anyway? I decided to get to the bottom of the issue. It was time to find out if hair removal is really an essential of fashion or plain, good old hygiene. So, I set about doing a bit of research into the issue. Hair Removal Has Been Around Since 30,000 BC (There go my hopes of ushering in a social revolution where hairy faces and bodies were completely acceptable.) As Livestrong says, people as far back as 30,000 BC used the sharp edge of flint to scrape off the hair from their scalps, faces, and bodies. At the time, it WAS a question of hygiene. No hair meant no lice, mites, and other infestations. I dug around a little more to find that everyone (including women) living in the warmer climates would shave off their scalp hair too. Then came a time in the Middle Ages when going hairless (bald?!) was the height of fashion. (I think I am quite happy I don’t live in those times.) The elite would remove all their hair (in the nether regions too) as a sign of quality. Think Romans and their statues and paintings of entirely hairless people. And, the court of Queen Elizabeth I where women removed their eyebrows and the hair on the front of their heads to show off high foreheads. (Phew!)  Hair Removal Techniques Haven’t Evolved All That Much In fact, removing hair in those times was a lot more painful. My research showed that people mainly used tweezing to get rid of the fuzz. They’d use seashells as tweezers or pumice stones and metal blades to scrape hair. Egyptian women are credited with the art of threading. They were the first to use twisted strands to pluck hair in 60 BC. Apparently, they also invented sugaring which is very much like modern-day waxing. And, yes, hair removal creams were also used. Only, women used a solution of quicklime and arsenic to burn off the unwanted hair. (It’s scary to think about what that did to their skins.) Getting Back to the 21st Century Having grudgingly conceded that I would have to get that waxing session, after all, the next step was to explore my options. I mean, doesn’t science and technology have an answer to the problem of unwanted fuzz? (and, a painless one, too!) Look around and you’ll find that there IS one solution that the ancients didn’t have. It’s called removing hair with the help of lasers. But, the question still remains. Does laser hair removal hurt more than waxing? (Remember? We’re still stuck on the issue of pain here!) So, It’s Back to the Internet! I decided that it’s time to look for a more permanent solution (Given that I’m going to have to do this all through my life!). And, if lasers promised clean skin for good, it was worth a shot. Here’s everything I found out about the procedure. Some of the information is from the expert aestheticians who can perform the treatment on you and some other comes from hapless people like me. (If you’re looking for some authoritative details, check out the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory website.) Medscape says that laser hair removal came to be first used in the year 1998 when some guys, Dierickx, and associates first released a paper after conducting 2-year research on the technique. Since then, you can find a whole range of equipment that can help you with unwanted hair. Lasering is a solution that’s perfect for women with darker-colored hair. The deeper pigmentation seems to absorb the heat and directs it to the root. The heat effectively burns the root so that it cannot go back. In a fraction of a second! You’ll probably need about 6 to 8 sessions spaced at intervals of about 6 weeks each. Weigh that against a lifetime of waxing sessions and the cost in terms of dollars (and, the pain!) and you’ll find that lasering is much more economical. You won’t have to worry about ingrown hair with layering. The levels of pain depend on your tolerance and the thickness of the hair. To some extent, the area under treatment is also a factor. So, if you’re working the more delicate sections, it could hurt a little more. Many users have talked about feeling a rubber band twanging against the skin. You can prepare for the session by taking painkillers in advance and using topical numbing creams. Applying ice afterward also helps. Avoid caffeine on the day of the procedure and time it far out from your appointment with Aunt Flo. You’ll save on some of the sensitivity. You can expect that the treated area will look pink for a few days and since the hair will be falling out, you may have to exfoliate thoroughly. Some women have also talked about noticing a singed hair odor. Laser treatments can be of two different wavelengths and doctors choose the appropriate one according to the color and texture of your hair and skin. As you go through the sessions, your aestheticians may work out a combination for you. Avoid trimming the hair before your session for a week or so and the treatment will be much more effective. Lasering doesn’t take a lot of time. You can get the session done during your lunch break. Lasering is great for both and women. You’ll be wearing protective eyeglasses all through the session so you needn’t worry about any potential harmful effects. There you go - the results of my digging around for the perfect solution for unwanted fuzz. Come to think of it, humans have come quite a long way in their quest for the perfect hair removal solution. From flint and cuts and nicks to the permanent option of lasers! (Who knows, over the next few hundred centuries, we might just mutate into humans without the need for lasers too. Um, they aren’t entirely painless, you know!)  To know more: 6 Stunning Long Hairstyles For Oval Faces
